Ann Coulter Reacts to Meghan McCain Via Laura Ingrham

Filed in National by on March 14, 2009

I don’t know if this got much press, but Meghan McCain, daughter of John McCain tried to move the GOP in the direction of sanity and away from freaky goofyness by criticize renowned wingnut skank, Ann Coulter.

I’ve been waiting for Coulter to react and surprisingly (for the publicity whore) she hasn’t. Instead, Laura Ingraham, Jr. renowned wingnut skank in waiting, called McCain “just another Valley Girl gone awry,” and called McCain “plus-sized.” (Calling people fat passes for rational argument for wingnuts.)

Laura Ingraham is a nasty piece of work. What is about this group that makes them attack young girls’ looks. Remember John McCain’s ugly joke about Chelsea Clinton.

  2. David Anderson says:

Group? Laura Ingraham does have a problem with plus sized people. I found her jokes offensive and tuned off her show years ago. How does that represent conservatives? It represents her particular issue.

Ann Coulter did respond to Cindy on the Glenn Beck TV program recently in an uncharacteristically graceful fashion. Maybe after the sit down with Mike Huckabee where he let her pitch her new book, she is turning over a new leaf. I sort of like the kinder gentler Ann. She is like a trained, cute pit bull now instead of someone out of control.

    David,

If you think Coulter has turned over a new leaf – I can guarantee that you will be disappointed and soon.

But that raises another interesting point. For a guy who seems to be displeased with just about everything Republicans say and do – you have a strange loyalty to what you think they are about.

  4. David Anderson says:

Oh, it is not just Republicans, I am disappointed with the tone of Democrats as well. I think that we are just in one of those times in our society where civility is under rated. Sometimes I feel like a person out of place.

The fact is that there are two teams and you have to be on one of them. You can’t look for perfection just which is the better net benefit to the nation. Both sides have something to offer and in the struggle for power the country will hopefully get the best of both.

  5. jason330 says:

I haer ya. I used to think that the truth would “net out” of the clash of opposing ideologies.

But that was before the Republicans went coo coo for coco puffs.

  6. Unstable Isotope says:

Republicans are obsessed with women’s looks and Ann Coulter is one of the worst ones. Remember her column about the 2004 Democratic convention where she called the Democratic women “hippie pie wagons” and talked about her “pretty girl allies?”

  7. jason330 says:

All liberal women are ugly, fat, lesbians according to Ann Coulter.

I am comforted by my faith – which tells me that she will be barking in hell for eternity.

Anyone remember Ann Coulter’s column in JFK Jr.’s “George” magazine complaining how she can’t get a date ?

Here’s the only link I could find.

Here is Salon’s take; a classic read:

Ten modest proposals to help Ann Coulter get a date.

  9. Eric Rifstarn says:

Let’s report things accurately. Laura savaged Meghan for being a vapid airhead. And she’s right. Meghan is a vapid airhead. “Everyone watch me…”
Nauseating, and much more so than AC – who’s bonkers but smart. I wish I had an art history major, then I could have great policy ideas like that everyone should be, like, nicer. Ann may be arrogant, bitter and unpleasant, but she’s not smug. I am looking forward to Meghan’s inevitable fall.
Oh, and if you describe yourself as a poster woman – you open your looks to discussion. Meghan has few claims to be taken seriously intellectually, and no claim to be a poster woman. Self-satisfied and smug. Just awful.

  10. I have pondered whether it would be better to “know” Ann Coulter first, before “knowing” Laura Ingraham, or if the opposite were a better match…. be intimate with Laura and then switch over to Ann. Hmmmm.

I have puzzled about this for years…

    (lol)

Meghan is just the newest flavor of Republican blonds.

Laura savaged Meghan for being a vapid airhead.

Which might be a case of the pot calling the kettle if you could ignore how incredibly bitter Ingraham is.

  13. xstryker says:

Sorry guys, devil’s advocate time: This is why I get really annoyed when y’all make “Mann Coulter” jokes. Ann Coulter is a screaming hell beast, a steaming piss-volcano of hatred, and by all measures, a total bitch. Going after her Adam’s Apple is like attacking Dick Cheney for being bald.

Fat jokes happen, be it Rush Limbaugh or Rosie O’Donnell. However, the crack at Meghan McCain really annoys me, becase she isn’t fat. She’s the size of a normal American woman. Clearly she’s proportionally thinner than her father, and I don’t recall anyone talking about his weight.

  14. Unstable Isotope says:

David Brock said he had never seen Laura Ingraham open a book in his memoir Blinded by the Right.

I’m with you X. I hate it when people discuss a prominent woman’s looks and especially when people say Ann Coulter is a man.

  15. Von Cracker says:

    Meow!

  16. John Manifold says:

Back when she would join Imus, Ingraham would chuckle over the “weight problems” of every woman whom she disliked — Anna Quindlen, Maureen Dowd and Hillary Clinton are the ones whom I remember. Imus and his misanthropic sidekicks replied with the obligatory chuckles.

The wretched WDEL is rumored to give its evening hours to Ingraham. It’s one of those rare times that a station dropped a sports talk program and reduced the intellectual quality of its programming at the same time.
