Friday Job Bank

Filed in Delaware by on March 20, 2009

I had this idea that DL could help find jobs for people.  So I’m hoping that if you have a friend (or yourself, Donviti) that needs a job, throw up a quick description of their skills.

And if you see a person that fits your needs, let us know and we can connect you.

I’ll go first with a friend of mine that is a project manager with experience coordinating a team of dozens of IT consultants with scores of projects.

Keep an eye out for a Proof Reader job because I am looking for one!

84 Lumber is hiring no experience required! $26.75 an hour! Easy job!

    I’ll play; it’s a great idea.

My friend is an audio-visual expert, systems and such. He has designed and wired up complete surveillance/communications systems for places like Christiana Care, and is willing to do any job no matter how large or small (if you need your home theater system intalled cheaper than Best Buy will do it, he will).

  3. Nosy says:

My out-of-work friend is a sales assistant with 8 years experience. Mostly adminisrative office work – very intelligent, excellent people-skills and a quick learner.

I also have a friend who recently started a small roofing company (yes, in this economy!) It’s a two-man team with a home office. Since they have such low overhead their prices are great and the quality and professionalism outstanding. They started this venture early last year and have many happy customers willing to provide references.

Kilroy – the proofreader comment made me laugh.

This is good stuff, keep it coming.

  5. pandora says:

Nosy, we might be interested in the roofers? We need to replace a slate roof – ouch!

Can you email me at pandora @ delawareliberal.net (remove spaces from email)

    Thanks!

I was hoping someone would ask about the 84 Lumber job! Re: easy job!

  8. liberalgeek says:

Kilroy – I may have someone for your 84 Lumber job. Is it in Newark?

  9. Von Cracker says:

A position will be available soon that, on a daily basis, deals with drug addicted sex offenders with xenophobic tendencies and occult-driven hysteria. Pandering and backtracking skills are a must.

Contact RNC – Attn: Mr. Steele. LOL!

  10. Kilroy says:

The U.S. Navy is seeking in-flight missile mechanics.

  12. I have a cantankerous 67 year old man with a leg and a half (with a prosthetic, but can’t bear weight for too long), really bad eyesight, and is hard of hearing. He’s looking for work that can be under the table, so he doesn’t lose his benefits and disability, preferably during the few hours when his son in law is home.

His skills include really bad depression era cooking, giving unwanted opinions, and telling bad jokes in poor taste. TV Land access is a plus.

  13. Susan Regis Collins says:

When working under the table, with a leg and a half, is he able to get up at quitin’ time? 😉

  14. Mark H says:

Viti…Public Health in Dover (State) has an opening for a Information Systems Support Specialist that matches your description

  15. Suzanne says:

I take just about any job, as long as I have to work only on Monday and Friday – my other part time job keeps me busy the other days.
I have an Associates in Human Services and a BS in Behavioral Sciences and lots of administrative background.

Though, if I can find something full time in my field, I’d go for it – I’d love to go back to Wilmington College and get a Master’s in Community Counseling, but for now I need $$$$.

  16. Steve Newton says:

    LG,
Does the person your helping know how to work in Landscaping? Mowers and weed whacking and other skills?

    DV,
Are you still interested in trying to go back to school for a Master’s for the time being? I can get you into the I-school at Drexel for a Masters in informaiton sciences and a few other programs. There are also scholarships available that you would qualify for and you could do it all online. Also, being a student gives you tax deductions and such as well as still being possible to manage once you get a ft job. I am still keeping my ears to the ground and will let you know if I hear anything.
