Remember Rush Limbaugh and his Operation Chaos, where he wanted his mindless followers to change their party registration from Republican to Democratic so that they could vote for Hillary Clinton in the Pennsylvania primary and in other states so as to prolong the divisive Democratic primary?
Well, Delaware is two steps away from making it easier for Rush to do that here in the First State. Senate Bill 9, sponsored by Sen. Dave Sokola, D-Newark, would move the deadline for changing your party registration from six months before a primary to three weeks before. Now, yes, the deadline to register to vote is also three weeks before the election, and so moving the changing parties deadline to coincide with it makes perfect sense. And yes, six months before is definitely too long and must be changed. And I can’t offer a deadline that makes more sense than three weeks.
Perhaps having idiots like Rush promoting mischief like he did in Pennsylvania is a necessary side effect to making it easier to register to vote.
