Deep Thought of the Day

Filed in National by on April 19, 2009

When critics of President George W. Bush raised the specter of fascism, they were out-of-control, anti-American radicals. When conservatives raise the specter of fascism — and mind-bogglingly socialism at the same time — they are patriotic dissenters channeling our founding fathers. Any questions?

Well, as y’all were yelling “Fascism!” concerning President Bush, I noticed that none of you were arrested and thrown in jail for what you wrote, and we had free elections at their normally scheduled intervals, and the opposition party even won a couple of them. Seems to me that your charges of Fascism were disproved.

    No you aren’t.

You are interested in reasons to rationalize the massive failure of your party. You think that the socialist charge that no one believed when McCain and Palin made it will somehow be more believable if you just keep saying it. And no one is buying the McCarthyite crap other than those of you who don’t really know what socialism looks like in the first place.
