The Washington Times is reporting that a group of conservatives opposed to Steele are pushing for a resolution that would take control of the GOP purse strings away from Steele.
The group needs signatures from RNC members from 16 states to force the resolution to the floor for a vote by the full party committee at the May 20 special meeting.
Steele is fighting back and making it personal. In his response he wrote,
“It is of course not lost on me that each of you worked tirelessly down to the last minute in an effort to stop me from becoming chairman,”
Needless to say, I am please with what this story foretells about the GOP’s operational effectiveness over the next few years.
