    Yes, Democrats promoted her and then didn’t defend her. Conservatives were divided. I don’t think that we will see any similar review of this nominee from the lock step left.

    She seems qualified. I think she is inevitable.

    It wasn’t the Democrats’ job to defend Miers. She was just an early casualty of the Republican purity purge.

    Harry Reid did recommend her to Bush, I think.
