SB 121 First On Tuesday’s Senate Agenda
Some things just can’t wait for Tuesday’s pre-game show. SB 121, which would outlaw discrimination based on sexual orientation, is #1 on the Senate agenda for Tuesday. Predictably, Sen. Bob Venables (D-Mars) has lobbed in three amendments, only one of which has even a passing acquaintance with sanity. He’s probably got a few more being drafted. No matter, the only result will be further embarrassment for one of Delaware’s most embarrassing public officials.
He might just cry on the floor, though, so get yer seats early. He’s fast becoming the Liza Minelli of the Delaware General Assembly, both in terms of his only coincidental and occasional relationship with reality and his propensity to tear up (although when he does it, it’s more like Dick Vermeil). If you’re lucky, he’ll use the word ‘dog’ during debate, but he’ll pronounce it ‘doag’, as he always does.
Regardless, there’s nothing better than being present for history when the outcome is not in doubt. Definitely worth the trip.
I completely disagree. None of his amendments have ever been in the same room with sanity, nor exchanged emails with sanity, nor gone to school with any of sanity’s friends.
‘Bulo was giving him the benefit of the doubt.
Save that for Smitty and Joanne. 🙂
One of the WGMD loonies called in to Curly’s show yesterday afternoon and was talking about how the amendments would basically make SB 121 “worthless.” So we need to show strength in numbers show up on Tuesday. Barring anything of importance in DC (like me being sworn in as president of my local) I plan on being there, if only to see Venables spontaneously combust when I tell him I’m a gay Jew. Might be more than he can handle.
Bulo, why are you so obsessed with this legislation?

Because ‘bulo believes that all citizens deserve equal rights under the law. This is civil rights legislation, pure and simple, and long overdue. There, that wasn’t so hard, now was it?
‘Bulo doesn’t understand the obsession with denying people their basic rights, but perhaps anon with the period will enlighten us.
