  1. LOL!!! And so true, too.

  2. pandora says:

    That looks about right.

  3. jason330 says:

I’m not sure this proves causation, but there is certainly correlation.

  4. anon says:

If there was causation, everybody would be doing it in the hopes of getting some illicit sex.

  5. jason330 says:

    LOL!

  6. anonone says:

Good point, anon #4. That might explain a lot.

Both Ensign and Sanford were members of something called “C-Street,” allegedly a Christian affiliation. But maybe the “C” stands for affiliation with something else entirely.

  7. anon says:

You know,. I couldn’t resist reading the emails… and it definitely sounds like she was playing him, probably a long game to eventually score some money.

  8. Sanford still hasn’t come clean yet. He said he went to Argentina to break it off. So, it took 5 days to do that? A smart reporter would look at where Sanford stayed when he was there. Did he stay at a hotel or at the woman’s house?

  9. Rebecca says:

I see a book deal coming for her.

What are your thoughts he had blackmail (to prevent a breakup) or extortion (why he went there – to end it) hanging over his head? I am in no way saying either is the case, but just a thought based on the excuse he went there to break it off.

I see a book deal coming for her.

I’m going to write one, too, based on Geek’s endless seduction of me.
    😯

  12. Delaware Dem says:

It is a possibility, RSmitty. Rather, I think he just told his wife and us that he was going there to break it off. Once there, it was another story. Remember, this is an unusual affair where I would guess the two only saw each other on a handful of occassions.

  13. Delaware Dem says:

That would be the most disturbing read ever.

  14. RSmitty says:

I would guess the two only saw each other on a handful …

Sorry. I thought you said …I would guess the two only saw each other IN a handful

    my bad.

  15. RSmitty says:

    LOL @ dd (#13)

  16. anonone says:

He and his wife had separated for two weeks with the agreement that he would not contact her. That is why (she says) she really did not know where he was.

  17. I think his wife had a lot of discipline not to say “I don’t know and I don’t care” when asked if she knew where her husband was.

  18. pandora says:

While his wife did show incredible restraint, it was her initial comments that raised the red flags.

  19. I think the initial red flags were raised by state officials because they couldn’t get in touch with the governor. Once it was widely known that he was missing, his wife gave her statement, which raised a lot of eyebrows. I think someone was concerned enough that they contacted law enforcement, how else would they have tracked down his car?
