Rioting In Iran
Yesteday’s stunning surprise announcement of Ahmadinejad as the winner of the Iranian election has led to protests and riots in Iran, news agencies are reporting. Some of these riots are getting violent. Some pictures are here. Here is a report by a NBC producer in Iran: What started off as a small rally outside a […]
President’s Town Hall Meeting on Health Care
President Obama went to Wisonsin this week to conduct a Town Hall discussing efforts to fix the health care system. This is abit over an hour long, but worth watching if you’ve only seen clips (the one where he gives the young woman a note for school seemed to be the news): I hope […]
Honest Question
I need to figure out which of our newer talk-radio drunk fools, liars, and Republican party functionaries are worth paying attention to. So it would help me out if you guys could please write a brief (3 – 4 sentence max) response to this question: Was George W. Bush a good President?
Delawarean Wins Stanley Cup
I ain’t no hockey fan, but Delawarean Mark Eaton last night won the Stanley Cup with the Pittsburgh Penguins. Delaware freaking rules! BTW, Eaton once played for the Flyers. Since he left, number of Stanley Cups won by the Flyers, zero; the number of Stanley Cups won by Eaton, 1.
Dispatch From An Alternate Reality #2
As we highlighted earlier in the week, Shepard Smith called out Fox News viewers after the murder of security guard Stephen Johns. Instead of taking time to think about what Smith said and admitting that the DHS report was perhaps correct, the reaction by the right wing has been predictably furious (from Media Matters): During […]
‘Bulo’s Saturday Music For the Masses-Best of the Eighties-Volume ??
‘Bulo’s lost track. But he is now unearthing nuggets from his personal faves of the ’80’s. So, until he completes this nostalgic musical wallow through the Reagan/Bush Years (it’s what kept him more or less sane), he will (a) add the El Somnambulo Definitive Album Ranking for each cut he features and (b) when warranted, […]
WTF? Obama Defends DOMA Like a Right-Wing Nutjob
David Anderson must be loving Obama today (in a totally hetero way). Obama has betrayed same sex rights with his defense of DOMA in court. Obama didn’t need to defend DOMA. He also didn’t need to invoke incest and child marriage in the argument. Read the link. There is some left-wing anger headed Obama’s way […]
QOTE
Will DNabb be more appreciated when he is gone? Bonus QOTE: How many times can you come up short before you get canned? EXTRA Bonus QOTE: I have heard people chirping about Obama taking a date night in NYC and touring Paris on the Taxpayers dime. Anyone going to question how much it cost the […]
Credit Where Credit’s Due
More of this, please – a lot more! “I don’t know her that well but I think she’s had a distinguished record on the bench and she should be entitled to fair hearings. Not – [it’s] like the senator John Cornyn said it,” he told CNN. “He may vote for it, he may not. But […]
HB1 Signed Into Law
At 2 p.m., Governor Markell signed the open government bill, HB1 into law. (I’m sorry for my crappy photography, I just got a new camera phone.) He made short remarks about how he campaigned on open government. With him at the signing were Senator Karen Peterson, House Speaker Bob Gilligan and Representative John Kowalko.
Who won the week?
I don’t know who the winner of the week, but Mike Protack is the whiner of the week. No question.
