Report: Delaware to Offer Betting on Individual NFL Games

The Beast Who Makes the Occasional $10 Wager may have (probably has) missed it in the News-Journal, but USA Today reports that the Delaware Lottery will offer both betting on individual NFL games and parlays.

Followers of this issue may recall that there was initial concern that Delaware’s Constitution might prevent betting on individual games.

Delaware intends to have the NFL betting in place by Sept. 10, “but court challenges from sports leagues could delay the plan.”

BTW, El Somnambulo hopes, really hopes, that the News-Journal covered this story and that it was picked up by Gannett for USA Today. ‘Bulo scoured both the July 14 and 15 papers and didn’t see it.

How embarrassing would it be to be scooped on a local story by your national flagship? It should be the other way around. Especially when the source is Delaware’s Lottery Director. Anon, say it ain’t so! ‘Bulo wants to play with the retraction gizmos on DL 3.0. (And, no, wingnuts, he’s not doing it for Gerald Hocker.)
