I don’t know what kind of power Mike Castle has over the News Journal editorial board, but it is some serious mojo. The “Castle damage control desk” at the NJ is buzzing.
There is a lot of admiration for the classy way that Congressman Mike Castle handled the strategically planned attempt to smear his Republican Party loyalty last month.
But it would have played much better had Castle-the-moderate not turned from that perturbed instinct we all have for contrived foolishness.
Imagine if you will, that he stood erect and silent when such superior patriots — very likely political plants — demanded that everyone fervently declare allegiance to the good ol’ red, white and blue.
Oh Snap! That’s some breaking news. Nobody else has unearthed the fact that Castle was “classy” the way he dealt with “political plants” who came to the meeting as a part of a “strategically planned attempt to smear” him.
Really Ms. Graham? If you know something, isn’t it your job as a journalist to tell your readers what you know? Yesterday we heard the booing Suxclownians* were from New Jersey – now they are some organized hit squad. Organized by who? She doesn’t say.
It is clearly not Rhonda Graham’s to tell you. It is her job to tell you whatever the Castle talking points of the day are.
[Suxclownians is my second attempt to come up with a coinage for Sussex Countians. I like it better. We’ll see.]
