AP/News Journal Scoops The Word – Report Obama “Abandons” Public Option
Your liberal media. Today’s front page banner headline does not match the first paragraph of text – but what the fuck, it makes Obama look bad so it must be good journalism.
Tom Carper may have won and protected his big money men. Obama may indeed be “ready to abandon” the public option as reported in the lede paragraph of the story but I think even the most dense wingnut can now agree that the News Journal is not “liberal” by any sense of the term.
Tom Carper never met a lobbyist he didn’t like.
And Tom Carper doesn’t believe in meeting any voters.
Perhaps Dr. Dean should form an exploratory committee for the 2012 Presididential nomination… start raising some money, maybe take a trip or two to Iowa. That ought to focus Obama’s mind a little on the public option.
Well, actually, that would be overkill and would create “schism” talk.. just a rousing Dean speech in support of Obama and the public option, from a podium somewhere in Iowa, would send the message.
OBAMACARE FAIL!
wooohooo Co-Op’s!
Let’s make a list of the big money people that have won so far under Obama
1. Wall Street
2. Auto Industry
3. Health Industry
4. Defense Industry
Am I missing anyone? yep, here comes socialism
Obama can’t do this alone. We have a screwy system where Max Baucus, Kent Conrad, and Chuck Grassley are holding the fate of healthcare in our hands. We need to keep pressure on our legislators to do the right thing. I’m not sure what people expected – that we’d elect someone and things would magically change. It won’t and it’s harder than we expected.
UI~ He needs to make a stand and he needs to make it NOW. He needs to stand on the platform and hold every single Republican to the fire. The way he does that is by saying he will NOT compromise on the position of the public option. As much as I hate to say this, One thing Bush did was stand with no compromise. He needs to lead and if he makes enemies than so be it.
short stuff,
We have to keep the pressure on him and on the Congress.
