The NFL season kicks off this morning and Washington DC is still cleaning up all the bull shit left on the streets by the tea baggers.

What, you thought those tea baggers were responsible? LOL. Those hillbillies got back on the bus and headed south.

  2. jason330 says:

The Eagles are giving 2.5 points, but I like Reid on opening day. I’ll have to get down to Dover Downs and put a place a bet…I mean..D’oh!

  3. Delaware Dem says:

I am very pessimistic on the Eagles this year. I expect them to lose today.

  4. Scott P says:

I love the Eagles, but frankly I don’t see them doing much this year. Unless McNabb has an MVP season, Westbrook stays completely healthy all year, and a bunch of untested and/or rookie players play to their maximum potential, they’ll be lucky to go 8-8. But as long as they beat Dallas and NY at least once I’ll call it a good year.

  5. After the (non-)performance of my Texans today, I’m thinking that I may need to buy a straight razor before the season is over.

  6. I drink a lot of iced tea, with no-calorie sweetener.

  7. Rebecca says:

Me too U.I. and I wake up most mornings with a strong jolt of British Blend black tea. I like coffee but I have to dress it up with lots of sweetener and coffeemate, so I save that for when I’m out at a breakfast meeting. For everyday waking up it’s black tea to send my fingers flying on the keyboard.

  8. anonone says:

If anybody should know about non-performance, it would be Rhymes With White. I hope the Texans lose the rest of their games.

  9. anon says:

With McNabb already hurt, it’s just a matter of time before we see Michael Vick.

  10. nemski says:

Damn, McNabb breaks rib. Let’s see Kolb or Vick?

  11. Kolb — Vick can’t come back yet.

Besides — Kolb was known as a nice guy when he played for the Cougars down here in Houston. It would be great to see the nice guy finish first.

  12. Hey, anonone — keep up the good work draining the very concept of racism of any meaning besides “disagrees with a black Democrat”.

  13. anonone says:

Rhymey – Grumpy today? What happened, did you miss last Sunday’s Legalize Segregation rally to watch the Texans lose?

  14. McNabb has a good day…and breaks a rib. Go freaking figure. Truth is, though, I have seen QBs in the past play with a broken rib. It really isn’t a good idea to do it, but it’s been done. I wouldn’t expect many pass attempts. I’d like to see him sit out this next game, though, and let Corn-on-the-Kolb stand in there like a Kolbstalk. Reid needs to figure this out, asap, though. Kolb needs as much practice with the first team this week, no matter what McNabb’s status will be. If nothing else, flip them on the depth chart (cornKolb #1 and McNabb #2), so he can swap them in/out of the game without much issue, just that Kolb must start. Let Kolb get the reps in practice and see how he starts the game. If McNabb goes #3, then it’s Kolb and the clipboard holder (no idea who that is since Feeley was released). In the NFL, if the #3 QB comes in, then then #1 can not return until the 4th quarter or injury necessity…actually not certain about that last part, but the 4Q part is right.

another week, another installment in the ACORN corruption scandal…

this week it’s New York in spotlight.

  16. Dana says:

Kind of a poor poll, who should start week 3, without Donovan McNabb being an option from which we could choose. My guess is that Mr McNabb will start, both week 2 and week 3.

Of course, I want to see the Eagles lose anyway, except for their two games against the Deadskins.

  17. Dana says:

I loved Andy Reid’s excuse: the number two guy doesn’t get that many reps in practice. Yeah, that might fly in week 6, but they just came out of training camp! Surely Kevin Kolb got some reps during camp, yet he wasn’t ready for week one?

  18. A. price says:

i cant believe it only took McSoup 3 quarters to get hurt this year. more reminders of why i am turning coat on the team this year.

  19. Puzzler says:

Almost lost in this thread, the Eagles looked good. The O-line blocked well after some early jitters. Westbrook turned on the jets a few times. McNabb was sharp. The defense was stout, covered well and swarmed. The Panthers helped at times for sure. But I was surprised overall at how solid the Birds looked, given their preseason was such a fiasco.

McNabb’s a tough guy who’s played with pain before. I was at the Vet years ago when he broke his foot against the Cardinals and played another whole quarter before coming out for an X-ray. We’ll see how long it takes for him to get back. Meantime I’m guessing it’s Kolb’s job to lose.

  20. Puzzler says:

“After the (non-)performance of my Texans today, I’m thinking that I may need to buy a straight razor before the season is over.”

Dude, you’re blogging with Philadelphia sports fans. The Phillies used to have a give-away day; straight-razors for all fans over 13.

  21. A. price says:

McNabb WAS a tough guy. he was the best QB in the game.. no more. he is old, he has been beaten up too many times, and hes kind of a dick.

RWR…. a texans fan? bad enough you suggested the Teabagger movement thinks they would have the support on the military… when you said us army would not fire on american citizens, even if they revolted the other day… TOTALLY tasteless.. but a TEXANS FAN? not even enough of a spine to totally go down the hole and root for the cowboys.

  22. Not only that — but I’ve got Texans season tickets. And before you ask — yes, I did grow up a Cubs fan, which is why I actually believed the hype that the Texans might be in playoff contention this year.

And as for rooting for the Cowboys, not a chance — too many years living in the DC area to ever root for that team, In fact, I can’t think of an individual Cowboy I’ve held in any sort of esteem since Landry and Staubach.

  23. Puzzler says:

Cubs fan…Oooh. Sorry. But don’t panic about the Texans. 15 more games.

  24. Yeah — 15 more games. After yesterday’s performance, that’s what I’m afraid of.

  25. anonone says:

The poll is out of date. You need to add J. Garcia.

  26. Put the QB stuff aside for the moment, this joker needs to go. Enough already.

  27. jason330 says:

    Smittance,

You will not be saying that when Vick beats the Giants in the post season.
