Tuesday Open Thread
Get your discussion on right here. Let me add some food for thought. Two posts just appeared about the new rise of Ayn Rand:
Sociopathy on the Right: Ayn Rand and the Triumph of Conservative Cultism
Do you all think this may have something to do with the outbreak of extreme rudeness we’ve seen recently?

Referring to a comment I left on nemski’s Sunday Open Thread just a few momements ago:
Put the QB stuff aside for the moment, this joker needs to go. Enough already.
I trust Reid to know what he is doing. Andrews definitely has issues, and has probably played his last game as an Eagle, especially if Justice shows he is able to handle the position….
I feel bad for Andrews in the sense that he’s battling mental health issues as well and there is a feel that those issues underlie this reoccurance. Being open as I usually am, I know what it’s like to deal with that, but on a milder level. It’s really bizarre on the neophyte level (I am one) to think how back issues and mental health issues can be intertwined. That said, though, this can’t keep dragging along in the scope of organizaional management. It’s a shame, too, because one of the many reasons of bringing in his brother (Stacey) was to help balance Shawn.
Interrupting the football talk with this which was in today’s NYT — US special forces went to Somalia and killed wanted terrorist Saleh Ali Saleh Nabhan. It was a daylight raid, with the special forces units operating from a nearby battleship. Even though the usual hornets’ nests will be stirred up here, it strikes me that it is a good thing to pick these guys off without starting full scale war and nation-building efforts.
But Tyler Nixon and Colin Flaherty said that Democrats can’t do military things right. Thus, this news story must be made-up.
Now this is funny/sad. Rep. Pete Stark told a constituent that he didn’t want to waste urine peeing on him after constituent said “don’t pee on me and tell me that it’s raining.”
LOL! I won’t hijack this thread with an assessment of those two sources.
But it does bring up another thing that I like about actions like this and the pirates thing and the AQ guy they just got in Pakistan — that they are apparently trusting these guys to do their jobs without the need to have alot of bombast pointed at Fox News.
Cass – how can you hijack an open thread? I am feeling mentally drunk on that one! 😛
I am just uncomfortable with the concept of invading other countries to assassinate leaders, at least it was done in apparent cooperation with whatever Somali government was there.
I thought you were always mentally drunk, Smitty!
The invasion of Somalia was to stem the spread of Libertarianism.
That’s what I was thinking, too A1.

Me shtoo.
This just received from Senator Carper’s staff . . .
“Senator Carper is a member of the Finance Committee, which is working on its own health care reform bill. The Committee has not yet finalized its version, but these are the senator’s priorities that he will fight to see included in the bill.
-Ensuring health reform will not add to our deficit and will be fully paid for.
-Improving our economy by bending the cost curve of rising health care costs.
-Incentivizing healthy behaviors and strengthening prevention and wellness.
-Promoting and improving care coordination among doctors and nurses with the use of technology.
-Replicating the best practices in our more efficient, quality-driven health systems such as the Cleveland and Mayo Clinics.”
Notice he doesn’t lay a glove on the insurance industry!!!!!
looks like the media embargo is breaking down:
