Delaware Prepares for Implementation of “National ID”

Delaware is close to implement the Real ID when issuing driver licenses according to the News Journal. There are some real problems with the implementation of Real ID — so many problems that some 15 states have passed “binding legislation” to reject  the Real ID Act of 2005, according to the American Civil Liberties Union.

Some issues that we will all deal with are the following:

More importantly, if you do not meet all the provisions under the Real ID, you will be given an ID that will allow you to drive, but will not allow you to enter a federal building or board an airplane according to the News Journal.  One is left wondering whey the Delaware Legislature did not pass a bill rejecting the Real ID.
