Sometimes Celia
Colin Bonini is the human teabag who is constantly putting himself in and taking himself out. He is a Republican state senator who has been eyeballing statewide office almost as soon as he got to the Delaware General Assembly in 1994.
Given the multiple meanings of the word “teabag,” in both our political discourse now and our … ahem… um private discourse (as well as the actual meaning of hot tea that Celia is describing), I found this sentence very amusing.
The rest of the article is, shockingly, worth the read, if only for the utter disdain she has for Colin Bonini. He has obviously punked her on multiple occasions through the years with tips for her early lines.
Bwahahahaha! I have a dirty mind.
If Celia has disdain for Bonini, that means the Republican establishment does too. I didn’t realize that but now it makes sense.
I’ve written a criticism piece before. Not so much over his policy, but over actions. Click my link (user-id) and browse for the post.
I think Celia’s column is Greenville’s way of saying “Forget it, Colin.”
Who is the GOP backing for Treasurer, or are they just giving up?
Celia was pimping Copeland not too long ago.
Loved Celia’s description of Bonini’s ambitions in her “Blue & Gold” section: “premature evacuation”.
Kilroy! Oh KILROY! We’ve got a Primo photoshopping opportunity (the best you’ll have all year) for you right here:
Colin Bonini is the human teabag who is constantly putting himself in and taking himself out.
Based on the excess avoirdupois he is once again carrying, no evacuation would be premature.
Greenville’s way of saying “Forget it, Colin.”
Bonini’s still PsduPIV’s fave.
But if they don’t like him, why is Michelle Rollins and Pete duPont hosting two fundraisers in the next month????? At least that is what I heard.
I think Celia’s dislike of Bonini is b/c she feels used by his previous trial balloons about seeking higher elective office. Guess when you’re down to something like 26 readers, you need to preserve what little is left of your bought-and-paid-for integrity.
Maybe Crazy Uncle Pete and Michele Racetrack want to save on food by serving a readymade stuffed pig. It’s not easy being a billionaire w/Obama in the White House.
They’re not going to hold a fundraiser for Mr. Protack, and Mr. Copeland doesn’t need one, so who else is left? Fundraisers do more than raise funds, they give the faithful a reason to gather and rally. The R’s in Delaware don’t have a whole lot of reasons to do that.
“Mr. Copeland doesn’t need one”
No doubt Rebecca’s phrase above was a flippant retort employed as a literary construct.
I would bet that if I looked on the campaign reports of some of our ‘already-dripping-with-personal-dough’ DEMs we’d find her registered contribution.
If there’s a true DEM party animal in DE it’s Rebecca (in a good way, natch).
Dave Anderson just pwnd Cohen on her Bonini post, btw. GOP are dutiful, draw straws and try to stay out of each other’s way FWIW. Right up until the tea partiers stepped in anyway.
