RNC’s Health Insurance Includes Abortion Coverage
Shocking! Here is the scoop from Politico:
The Republican National Committee’s health insurance plan covers elective abortion – a procedure the party’s own platform calls “a fundamental assault on innocent human life.”
Federal Election Commission Records show the RNC purchases its insurance from Cigna. Two sales agents for the company said that the RNC’s policy covers elective abortion.
The rest of the article has lots of noises from repubs noting how inconsistent this is and how they should get rid of that coverage. Right. Please Media — make sure you check again in six months to see if they’ve actually dropped it. And Local Media — make sure you are checking on state operations to make sure they aren’t covering it, either.

Right. The only problem being that all this attention will deny a few MORE women coverage. It’s ironic, but not happy.
I was laughing at the irony and the hypocricy, not the forthcoming denial of coverage for women. Nevertheless, the Republican National Committee will no longer offer employees an insurance plan that covers abortion, Steele announced today.
I agree with you Brooke – women covered by the RNC insurance plan just lost coverage. That is not a good thing overall.
