And a very Happy Birthday to Governor Jack Markell.

  2. Things I’m thankful for:

    – My husband
    – My family, even the wingnut ones
    – My friends
    – Jason330, for creating this space for us to play
    – My fellow contributors for giving me a chance to contribute here
    – All our commenters and readers, you make this place worthwhile. Thanks for indulging me in my hobby!
    – Not being a Republican – I don’t have to argue the complete opposite of something I argued just last year. I’m happy to be a member of the reality-based community.

    Have a happy Thanksgiving everyone!

    Things I’m thankful for:

-My family (I don’t have any wingnut ones — yay!)
-My friends, even the wingnut ones
-Being able to hangout here with all of the great contributors and (mostly) great commenters
-Having a pretty great job and (mostly) great co-workers and owners
-No one having particularly high expectations of me on either Facebook or Twitter
-Having the chance to showoff my awesome cooking skills today!

And Happy Birthday to Governor Markell! Our birthdays are in the same month, so now I know why I think so highly of him! 😉

  4. What are you making Cassandra?

  5. Wow, Palin is also an expert in Canadian policy:

“Hey, remember us, we’re the Canadians! We came all the way here from Canada!” Delahunty yelled. “When we asked you that question, we didn’t hear your answer.”

Palin strolled over, looking down on Walsh and her crew to tell them that “Canada needs to dismantle its public health-care system and allow private enterprise to get involved and turn a profit.”

  8. Rebecca says:

    Oooh cassandra, sounds wonderful!

We went out for the big meal. Hartefeld put on a very nice buffet and everything was delicious. Good news, nothing to clean up. Bad news, no leftovers. But I’m doing a TG feast on Saturday for family and a few friends.

Now I’m going to couch potato with True Compass, Ted Kennedy’s memoir. It’s good reading, especially if you like stories about the Kennedy clan, and I do.

Happy Thanksgiving one and all, and ditto the thanks above to Jason330 for creating this community.

  9. I’ve never tried oyster stuffing.

  10. cassandra_m says:

Oyster stuffing is really traditional in my family and my non-Maryland friends are pretty addicted to it. I use a recipe that my grandmother used. Unfortunately, I can’t eat it — allergies to the oysters.

Rebecca, I hear that Hartefield is a very nice place for dinner. It is neat that you choose to do your own cooking a couple of days later — that way your family and friends get multiple Thanksgivings this week!
