Health Insurance Lobby Astroturfs Facebook Games
Millions of Facebook users spend their time as digital farmers, pirates or wise guys and the health insurance lobby has found a way to use these games to further their political agenda.
. . . Get Health Reform Right, are paying Facebook users “virtual currency” – which is useful in Facebook games like “FarmVille,” “Mafia Wars” and “Friends For Sale” – in return for those users to fill out a questionaire. And when they do so, the program automatically kicks out a letter to Congress.

Now I have a new reason to not play Facebook games — but I think that we also see the seeds of this portion of the ad industry starting to train its audience to NOT click on the ads. Because who knows what they are doing when you click through?
