Impatient for Beau

Filed in National by on December 23, 2009 6 Comments

Beau Biden is enjoying his time home with his family, and tackling the AG’s office after a year away. Personally, I believe he will run and I believe the race, once underway, will not be close. But our 24 hour 7 days a week national media wanted their instant gratification yesterday.

God Works In Mysterious Ways

Remember Sen. Coburn’s very classy call to pray someone didn’t show up to vote on the Senate health care reform bill? Well, interestingly, this morning one Senator didn’t show up for the vote. It wasn’t Robert Byrd, it was Sen. Inhofe. A caller to C-SPAN worried that his prayer (he called himself a teabagger, too) […]

Republicans Score Political Points, Kill Jobs

This just in from the News Journal, an important partner for the wind turbine tower construction project has pulled out of a partnership with Delawind.  You may remember that Delawind was attacked by the right-wing here in Delaware because one of their principles is John Carney.  Delawind had applied for financing from the state to […]

The Catch-22

Filed in National by on December 22, 2009 102 Comments

This is a lonnnnnnnnng post. This is three weeks worth of frustration and rants on the misconception seen in the Great Blogosphere Civil War of 2009 and political realities. First, I just want to point out a few misconceptions by some independents and some our my purist liberal friends who have become bill killers of […]

The Self Confidence of the Neocon as Foreign Policy

To read John McCain’s quote, stating that victory in Afghanistan and Iraq means “breaking their will,” it strikes me that he is just, and still, a fourteen year old boy dreaming of the grandieur of war and the vanquishment of our enemies. And it is quite shocking since, he, of all people, should have a clear view that war is not a fantasy, and that fantasy is not war.

Senate Bill Passes 2nd Cloture Vote

The 2nd cloture vote on the Senate health care reform bill. The motion to end debate passed 60-39. So, it looks like Sen. Coburn’s prayer that someone not show up for voting (Sen. Inhofe) came true after all! Congrats, to Sen. Coburn, he was probably doubting the righteousness of denying people health care. The Wonk […]

Why the GOP thinks Scrooge is the perfect role model I will never know. Perhaps Mitch McConnell needs a visit from three ghosts.

Just in time to ruin your Christmas: Delaware Dem returns

Thank God for my wonderful compadres here at Delaware Liberal. They have all been picking up the slack over the last two (or Jesus, has it been three?) hiatus, and doing a fantastic job too. It was a definitely unplanned break resulting from a perfect storm of end of the year real world work frenzy, […]

Santa’s Revenge

Santa’s Revenge

I was at the Eagles Game Sunday. A few snowball fights broke out (in fact, I may have had a hand in starting one, since I threw snow into the air along with many other people in celebration of the last Eagle touchdown of the game, which is when the fight started). But I saw […]
