Carly Fiorina, ex-CEO of Hewlett Packard and McCain surrogate, is running for U.S. Senator for California. Apparently the Republican primary is turning into a real knock-down, drag-out fight and Fiorina is facing a challenge from at least two Republicans running from her right. So, Fiorina just released a web ad critical of one of her primary opponents:
Watch it all the way to end, it gets weirder. I’ll tell you it has to be the strangest political ad I’ve ever seen. I love the description that Jake McIntyre at Daily Kos gives the ad:
It’s as if a very expensive Senate campaign for an incredibly wealthy woman in the biggest, richest state in the United States of America collectively dropped acid and decided to make an art school, prog rock “concept commercial.” Tom Campbell’s “pedestal” might be “so high,” but not as high as Carlyfornia’s new media team.
Before Fiorina’s ad, I always thought that this Mike Gravel ad (Democratic candidate for president in 2008) was the strangest political ad I’ve ever seen:
Congrats, Carly. I think you got the attention you were seeking.
