I think most of these are kind of no-brainers. I hope that Meryl Streep wins for “Julie and Julia.” She was so amazing in that. I’m not sure how I feel about “The Blind Side.” It just seems like one of the genre of white people saving black people, which Hollywood loves.
I think Jeff Bridges is a lock. Waltz is a lock for Best Supporting Actor. Up is a lock for Best Animated Feature. I think Mo’Nique is a favorite, and I want her to win, I just wonder if there will be an upset there. It is a tossup between Bullock and Streep for Best Actress, and in that race I was tempted to pick a HUGE UPSET in Gabourey Sidibe of Precious. And I fear and dread a win by Avatar and James Cameron, but I think they are the favorites instead of Hurt Locker.
Also, I usually try to see all the movies nominated for Best Picture, which was a much easier task when there were only five nominees instead of ten. That said, I still saw Avatar, The Blind Side, The Hurt Locker, Inglourious Basterds, Precious (which made me suicidal), Up and Up in the Air. 7 out of 10 is not bad.

I had the chance to see 9 out of 10 movies nominated this year (unapologetically missed Avatar) and the only thing I really care about is James Cameron not winning anything. It would make me happy if Meryl Streep won for her portrayal of Julia Child instead of Sandra Bullock. It would make me happy if anyone besides Sandra Bullock won in this category this evening.
But the best movie out of the ones I saw was the Hurt Locker, followed closely by Up In the Air.
jason–Mrs. Cameron(?) never was a stunner. Guess, she’s been his beard, or heaven forbid a beauty within, or maybe his intellectual equal. But he brings her out everytime–which must surely disappoint you Baywatch Boys.
Is Katherine Bigelow above average height, or Ryan Seacrist below average height? And their differences just exponential side by side? I bet those cameramen cursed that combo.
I didn’t see enough to have an opinion, but I will say that James Cameron’s wife looks like a 97 year old 83 pound freakshow.
Christopher Waltz deserves an award.

A couple of dresses are already bringing the crazy, especially Charlize Theron.

Which Mrs. Cameron? Hasn’t he been married like 16 times? He was even married to Linda Hamilton at one point.
James Cameron’s ex – Kathryn Bigelow is super hot though. She looks better than most of the actresses.
So far you’ve gotten Up, Waltz and Mo’Nique right.
The Dude takes home the statue.
100% correct!
And women rule!!!!
David A. sinks to new depths of spellcheck horror in his Oscar commentary:
After reading this I am drained.

both actually.
But Seacrest is nortoriously short. I’ve seen him on the red carpet standing on a box before. seriously, like, a milk crate.
