Wilmington City Council Meetings (and Other Programming) Is Now Online

The effort to bring the viewing and documentation of City Council proceedings into the 21st century is finally live and running here:

WITN Online

Apparently this was live for streaming the City Council Meeting on the 17th, and will livestream City Council Meetings as well as Committee Meetings. Meetings will be archived for on demand viewing at this site, and other City produced programming that is aired on WITN will also be archived here.

The interface is sort of ugly (to me), but it is better than not having the possibility of seeing any of this content unless you were in the building.

This is a good step for openness in the City (with a fairly long way to go) and certainly doesn’t leave the NCCo Council with many good reasons for NOT livestreaming and archiving their content.
