    Wow! That was really good.

  2. delacrat says:

Whoa ! That was really bad.

The gratuitous epithets regarding A1: “Jackass and a douchebag,”…. “dickhead , douchebag and a loser”, is a level of bile and vituperation that exceeds anything directed at any “conservative”.

    What gives?

  3. liberalgeek says:

It should be noted that I did not utter any of those epithets.

I think I was thinking about something else by the end of it. Must imbibe more before getting on the call. And I did pretty reasonably, considering the 120 seconds notice that I was given. 🙂

  4. dv says:

you are as loyal as your options

  5. xstryker says:

    Options? Huh?

  6. liberalgeek says:

DV feels slighted because Jason placed a podcast booty-call to me.

  7. dv says:

I think slighted is a fair term. I also think that perhaps when a person reaches out to another person to create a TEAM, that perhaps the person take the other persons feelings into consideration. I can honestly say that i wouldn’t have called you LG until after i had reached Jason and cleared it.

MY ADHD being what it is, I still would have the courtesy to give my partner the option of passing and saying to go for another sidekick this week.

So to be honest, it’s kind of shitty yes. Jason thinking of Jason. And yes, DV thinks only of DV at times too. this decision also goes in the context of thinking that this entire idea was Jason’s and the person he decides to call upon should know and understand they are as indespensable as toilet paper. Something that is hard for me to keep in mind.

I should disregard that the start of all this was predicated on me being contacted and asked if I wanted to do a show WITH Jason. Hence the Jason and DV I think is still on the Title of Channel 88.

It’s sort of the MO though and was explained to me I think in show 8 or 9 when Jason was waffling and changing his mind on what he wanted to do and the real reasons behind doing it.

It’s Jason’s show and he is the decider in chief. Regardless of the fact that the title of the show is Jason and Donviti. I just wish I had my phone on me last night and then this all could have been avoided…

until Jason decided differently that is

Love you man. But christ almighty….

  8. jason330 says:

Here is my take on A1. He (she?) has the emotional intelligence of a rusty tin can. He (she?) can never take his (her?) foot off the “holier-than-thou” gas pedal long enough for anybody to agree with him (her?) and if his (her?) shrieking was ever leavened with the slightest bit of humor or irony the world would be a better place.

Rather than get into all of that – I used podcast shorthand.

  9. jason330 says:

Jesus H. Christ. It has been the same time for the past few weeks and I texted you twice. When you didn’t get back to me I figured you had something better to do.

Anyway, it all worked out for the best.

  10. dv says:

what happened to the 3 strikes rule? Even California has that.

I have nothing better to do god damnit!

  11. I feel like I’m participating in a marriage counseling session right now.

  12. anon says:

Well, Jason *has* declared his desire to engage in a relationship with Joisey’s comment… wouldn’t that be cheating on DV?

  13. anonone says:

Imagine that. A person whose only opinion of me is that I am a “Jackass, douchebag, dickhead, loser” complains that I have “the emotional intelligence of a rusty tin can” and a foot on the “holier-than-thou” gas pedal.

There’s a “bit of humor or irony” in there someplace, I’m sure.

  14. dv says:

I like you A1, even when you are a relentless dick.

  15. anon says:

Listening to the podcast is a lot like reading Celia’s column, in that you can’t comment and engage with the points being raised. The appeal of blogging is the engagement among commenters and authors. Maybe that’s the point of the podcast? It is certainly understandable if you guys are burned out from engaging with commenters after all this time.

I am seeing a divide among Democrats who think Obama has betrayed them, and those who think Obama has done well.

For want of a better phrase, I think Dems have a limousine liberal problem.

If you are fortunate enough to be in a position where you know you will not need an unemployment extension, a COBRA subsidy, public option health care, a mortgage rewrite, or a job from a government jobs program, then you probably think Obama is doing fine and has gotten a lot of useful work done.

But if you think you might ever need any of those things, you are terrified and angry.

  16. anonone says:

    Thanks, DV. (wipes away tear)

“Relentless dick.” I like that. Been that way since I was a teenager.

  17. jason330 says:

    Anon, Kinda.

For me it isn’t about what he has or hasn’t done – it is about putting Democrats in position to win elections. Obama, and all successful candidates for that matter, won by ATTRACTING people to the campaign, not by CHASING the 5% of undecideds in the middle.

I see Obama turning to the Democrats favorite losing strategy of CHASING the 5% through dumb, muddled compromise, and not ATTRACTING voters with coherent, just policies.

BTW – To give some back story on the audio podcast, I wanted to build some kind of audio competency so that I could interview people without having to write things down. if the weekly podcast goes somewhere, great. If it doesn’t it doesn’t.

  18. anon says:

It all goes back to Obama choosing the wrong side on the public option fight. That was the time to break the conservadems, break the filibusters, and shore up the base.

Anyway, as polls sink the Obama administration gets closer to the traditional mid-term staff shakeup. Get rid of Rahm, get rid of the Goldman Sachs mafia, put Elizabeth Warren in Treasury. That will make a difference.

But those are just more liberal pipe dreams.

  19. dv says:

the interview thing would be great if we…I mean you…got a podcast that could have more than 2 people on the line

  20. jason330 says:

That made me laugh. Be that funny on Tuesday nights between 8:00 and 9:00, M’kay?

  21. anonone says:

Just a reminder, jason: I am holier than you. If there were a god, he/she/they would like me more.
