Darn That Liberal Media!

Filed in National by on July 20, 2010

The “liberal” media has been in full swing lately. It’s made itself very clear that it’s only purpose is to make sure that conservative’s delicate feelings are always protected. The truth must always be couched as a controversial possibility among many if it disagrees with a conservative narrative. Fox News has been the front guard in protecting conservatives from the truth and also protecting their listeners from confusion caused by the intrusion of reality:

A spokesman for the liberal group VoteVets said Fox News rejected an ad linking oil consumption with troop deaths.

The ad, above, is airing on CNN and MSNBC. In it, a former Army logistics official makes the case that transporting oil is costing troops’ lives.

VoteVets spokesman Eric Schmeltzer said the ad was rejected without explanation; an earlier spot was ruled “too confusing” by the network.

We can’t let the truth get in the way of a good narrative. An ad paid for by a Bill Kristol front group, Emergency Committee for Israel continues to run in Pennsylvania despite protests about its inaccuracy.

Meanwhile, Sestak is also contesting the assertions in another third-party ad being run in the Philadelphia area by a newly formed group, the Washington, D.C.-based Emergency Committee for Israel. The ad, which questions Sestak’s support for Israel and claims he raised money for a Hamas front group, is wrong, he said.

A spokesman for the group said the ad continues to run despite the Sestak campaign’s efforts to get cable operator Comcast to take it down. Comcast did not immediately return a telephone call seeking comment Thursday.

I’m curious as to what you think. Will this ad hurt Joe Sestak? I’m just not certain how Israel is an election issue outside of neocons.

Both of these ads share the “AraBad, AmeriGood” premise.

I have read your comments about FOX News and ask why is it you ridicule them when more people watch FOX than ALL of the others combined. Is that all you can muster is petty ridicule? What LOSERS!

classic. Just cause they can look at a graph it must mean they have more facts.
Bryan, all that means is they are better at getting people to watch… and what better way to get a bunch of morons to watch your show than telling them Nazis are comming for them so they better tune in.

also, most people used to think the sun was never comming back every night.

    come play again soon.

So, just so we’re clear… Your argument for why Fox “News” is actually news is that more people watch it? That’s your argument?

I will point out that more people watch “Keeping Up With the Kardashians” than any “news” show out there. Does that make them more reliable? Don’t answer… You probably are a big fan.

I love riling up Leberal/Progressives. It is my favorite sport, next to shooting fish in a barrel. All you have to do is crank them up and watch them self destruct. It’s so easy.

  6. Way more people watch the NBC, ABC and CBS nightly news casts than watch Fox News. Please try again later.
