Judge Rules Libertarians Can’t Run in Democratic & Republican Primaries
We got this tip from Rebecca:
Judge Vaughn ruled today that the two Libertarian candidates may not file on the Republican and/or Democratic Primary ballots.
Libertarian candidate William McVay filed to run in both the Democratic and Republican primaries in the 32nd representative district. Libertarian Brent Wangen, candidate for U.S. House of Representatives, also filed to compete in the Republican primary. An initial ruling by the AG’s office determined that a candidate either had to be a member of the party or have the support of the party to run. Judge Vaughn upheld this ruling.
Is this the end?

Ha! Republican wannabes will be back chirping in 4 years.
@ jason330. You my man sound like a ill informed moron. One again you go off tooting your own horn of Ignorance. We are the farthest thing from Republicans. But your either to dumb or to Ignorant to know any better. Of course I’m wasting my time talking to you. Your one of those “closed minded Far Lefts.”!!!
You call me a lefty like that’s a bad thing. Take back the frame.
Just because McVay & Wangen aren’t in a primary doesn’t mean we don’t have DEMOCRACY.
In some sense, Libertarian Supporter is correct. Republicans prefer more of a totalitarian, control-oriented, aristocracy. Libertarians prefer the Somalian-style, unregulated, every-person-out-for-themselves, and the strongest win type of government. Even if they believe it, repubs won’t put ending civil rights and anti-discrimination laws in their platform whereas Libertarians are quite proud to be the party of “let’s bring back discrimination.”
Once again I must say this. The vast majority of you show how Limited and Close minded you are. You show that you like to talk out your Asses. Rather then with intellect. That’s ok tho this is one of your Constitutional Rights. So Children please try a little harder to show me that your learning.
LS – If the owner of a business decides that they don’t want to serve people with dark skin, how does the perfect libertarian government resolve that issue? More specifically, if there were a sit-in by dark skinned individuals in a restaurant that decided that it didn’t want to serve dark-skinned people, would you support the use of police to enforce the property rights of the property owners and remove, by force, the protesters?
This is a tough one for you, because if you answer no, we will think you not a lunatic, but you will be ostracized by the “real” libertarians.
if ‘We are the farthest thing from Republicans’ then why do Libertarian candidates file to run in the Republican primary?
I’m glad that you and most Libertarians see quite some distance between your party’s core values and those of the Republican party. Can you offer any insight to why McVay and Wangen don’t share your enlightened perspective?
By the way, Libertarian Supporter, the answer “the free market will stop discrimination” has already been tried. It took government intervention to stop it.
