Allons Danser Avec Beausoleil

Filed in National by on September 16, 2010

The great Cajun dance band Beausoleil Avec Michael Doucet performs this Saturday night at the Arden Gild Hall at 8 p.m.. A perfect way to celebrate the downfall of the billionaires on the hill, or for the billionaires on the hill to recover from their loss. In other words, billionaires are welcome and we do serve wine (and Dogfish Head Beer) at the bar. When it comes to taking your money, we’re proudly non-partisan.

Yes, this is another shameless self-promotion by Yours Truly, El Somnambulo, who is producing the show.

Since forming in 1975, the six-piece BeauSoleil have claimed their undisputed role as the most esteemed Cajun group in music. BeauSoleil avec Michael Doucet take the rich Cajun traditions of Louisiana and artfully blend elements of zydeco, New Orleans jazz, Tex-Mex, country, blues and more into a satisfying musical recipe. From The Grand Ole Opry to Newport Folk, from concert hall to dance floor, the music of BeauSoleil captivates audiences worldwide.

BeauSoleil Avec Michael Doucet won a 2009 Grammy Award for their “Live from the 2008 New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival” CD. They have won two Grammies, and have been nominated 11 times. Simply put, they’re one of the best live bands out there. Here’s a taste:

While there will be seating for this concert, a portion of the Gild Hall will be opened up for dancing. Accordingly, El Somnambulo and the Arden Concert Gild invite you and the entire family to ‘allons danser’ with BeauSoleil.

Tix are $35 for the general public and $27 for Arden Club members.  However, if you call the Club reservation line at (302) 475-3126 and leave the password with your reservation, we’ll fill your order at the member price. The password:  ‘Bouvier de Flanders’.

Hope to see you Saturday.
