Castle Announces…
…he’s not running as a write-in candidate.
Congressman Mike Castle announced tonight — with a written statement — that he will not run as a write-in candidate on the Nov. 2 ballot for U.S. Senate.
…
“While I would have been honored to represent Delaware in the U.S. Senate, I do not believe that seeking office in this manner is in the best interest of all Delawareans,” he said in the release. “Therefore, it’s time for Jane and me to begin thinking about the next chapter of our lives.”
Chris Coons sighs in relief.

Well he got one right.
So is this man pants, or no man pants? how does that work.
Hmmm…good question anon. I’d call it man pants but getting a bad poll result and not running seems like a no man pants.
Good decision Mr. Castle. Now don’t forget to update your linkedin profile (lol).
Man pants, man pants, man pants, oooohhhh MAN PANTS!!!
No streaking down main street for Jason. Thanks Mike!!
Castle’s whole statement is up on his web site. It’s short, with no mention of O’Donnell.
” I do not believe that seeking office in this manner is in the best interest of all Delawareans,”
That’s the mention of O’Donnell. Allowing her to have a shot at this office would not be in the best interest of Delaware.
Good catch.
Let this put an end to the Man Pants saga (sob) Maybe we’ll see Mike out with us on Sunday in Middletown? That would stoke the fires burning beneath the cauldron abutting the blood soaked altar upon which Tbaggers feed. Not to put too fine a point on it, and no offence to my lady friends;I could use some lady friends, not in the “Lay Lady Lay” sense, “keep your lips off my crotch” type lady friends, but I’ve always associated those TeaBags with Dbags, which is near enough to tampons, you know, when Aunt Flo visits? So Tbags on bloodsoaked altars….am I reaching?
The statement on Castle’s website is from September 15th.
Castle may have decided against a write-in campaign, but two others have not:
United States Senator
Maurice F. Bourgeois
Samtra Devard
I have never heard of either, but they have memorable names.

Unless it is a different Samtra Devard, the write-in candidate has been involved in children’s early education issues for years.
She founded the Hope Center in Bear which appears to help families with education and parenting issues:

She is on the Delaware Board of Professional Standards, whose members appear to be appointed by the governor:

She has 3 children ,including a child with Down Syndrome, and her experience getting them the educational opportunities that would best benefit them appears to have been part of what got her involved in early childhood education issues.
Here is how Bourgeois describes himself on his website:

Jason, you gotta take your man pants off and do the walk. Don’t be a weasel.
Time to hang up the man pants.
Mikey gets it right and the Koch Brothers money go’s down the drain. Now on the Glenn Urquhart….
It’s about time the old bum finally called it quits. I wonder what he was able to squeeze out of the Dem and GOP committees. He’s probably sitting on a pile of campaign money that he can keep as well.
Delbert, he cannot keep the campaign money for personal use (as was the case 10+ years ago). He can donate it to charity or other political campaigns or committees. Or he can refund it.
Interesting how, on a liberal blog, standing up and doing what’s right is associated with “man pants.” I guess if he did the wrong thing, it’d be girly. 🙂
Dana: You might have noticed that certain liberals at this site keep talking about running around without any pants at all.

Castle did a good thing, the GOP is toast this fall. Ross and rakestraw are ready to jump.
Sad: he should have given it one more try. 🙁
