More Republican Hypocrisy and Nonsense

Filed in National by on October 17, 2010

A Democratic incumbent is taking his teabagging opponent out to the woodshed for slamming the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act while also benefiting from it.

Congressman Ed Perlmutter (D-CO 7), blasted his opponent, Ryan Frazier, for calling the stimulus program a failure while the charter school Frazier is vice president of took $100,000 in stimulus money.

A charter school that Republican Ryan Frazier co-founded and helps oversee received more than $100,000 from what he calls the “failed” stimulus program.

Democrat Ed Perlmutter dropped that bombshell Saturday during a 9News debate between the two major-party candidates in the 7th Congressional District, who traded jabs and talked over each other as they disagreed on a variety of topics.

It seems to me that this is just more of the same out of the Boehner/McConnell playbook. Vote against helping out your communities and then take credit for it and show your ugly mug at the ribbon cutting.

In other Colorado news, Ken Buck (Teabag-CO) doesn’t just have a problem with rape victims. He’s now comparing being gay to alcoholism. Buck and Sen. Michael Bennet were on Meet the Press today and when asked about his views about homosexuality, Buck said:

On Sunday, Buck made clear that he believes being gay is a choice, although he said that birth may have some “influence” over it — such as with alcoholism:

DAVID GREGORY: Do you believe that being gay is a choice?

KEN BUCK: I do.

GREGORY: Based on what?

BUCK: Based on what? I guess you can choose who your partner is.

GREGORY: You don’t think it’s something that’s determined at birth?

BUCK: I think that birth has an influence over it, like alcoholism and some other things, but I think that basically, you have a choice.

Just another example of the wingnut right’s problem with teh gay.

As my brother back there has said, Buck’s a Schmuck.”
