The DE House [RESULTS] Dems pick up 2 seats, expand majority
Alright. Rebecca Walker wins finally. A pick up for the Dems in the 9th. Heffernan looks to be winning in the 6th, another pickup for the Dems. Kovach will be Carney’s challenger in 2012. Shockingly, it looks like Dennis E. Williams will win the 10th, so a hold for the Dems, depriving the GOP of a major pickup opportunity. Barbieri holds on in the 18th. Osienski picks up the 24th for the Dems. All Dem pickups so far. Bennett and Scott win in Kent County, while Walls loses. So one pickup for the GOP when they should have had all three of those races. Shockingly horrible performance for the Delaware GOP, indicating that the state party is dead. All other incumbents have won. So the Democrats have picked up 3 seats, the GOP have picked up 1, so that is a net gain of 2 seats for the Dems tonight in the House.

Sounds like Schwartzkopf is going to lose
Pete will get 55%
Yeah, Pete is in no danger.
The 9th district is literally DEAD EVEN at 6 out of 10 reporting!!!! INCREDIBLE to watch!!!! That’s Marino vs. Walker–Cathcart’s old seat…..
WAlker won by 2.5 in the 9th. Just heard from her headquarters. Johnson in the 8th by 25+
I feel sorry for the people of the 9th. She’ll never do the job Cathcart did or Marino would have. Idiots.
Anybody watching these? Dems hold the house. Bennett even won!
Anyone heard from Hefferman’s HQ in the 6th?
Walker worked very hard in the 9th. Congrats.
Russ couldn’t overcome R juggernaut in Milford.
9th district had over 10k total votes. wow. 8th was not far behind.
How did Brad Bennett pull that off?
Del Dem, you must be from New Castle County if you think that Bennett and Scott should have lost their seats tonight. Kent County is changing. It’s not the Republican stronghold it once was, especially in the 31st and 32nd. These should be places Dems win every election now.
John, I agree with you. If I were democrats, I’d spend the next two years heavily investing in Middletown, Smyrna, and Dover. There is absolutely no reason that these increasingly educated and affluent districts shouldn’t be solidly democratic, even progressive.
And, I agree with you, Yeoman. This area should be a priority for the Party to cultivate given the gains the Republicans have made in Southern Kent County and Western Sussex. Unfortunately, it won’t be because the Party has a myopic focus on New Castle County and candidates in that County.
DENNIS E. WILLIAMS wins in the 10th beating a very nasty and negative campaign by the republican.
Yay for Mike Barbieri!!
