Katz in Maine Skiing Accident

Filed in National by on January 10, 2011

Back to local news after what seems an eternity, Dialogue Delaware reports that State Senator Michael Katz (D) and his daughters were on the ski lift in Maine that malfunctioned and crashed to the ground two weeks ago.

Katz and his school-age daughters were among eight people injured on Dec. 28 after a ski lift derailed at the Sugarloaf Mountain Ski Resort and they fell 35 feet to the ground. “The chairs fell to the ground,” Katz told The News Journal. “I would prefer not to go into the details of the medical details,” said Katz, an anesthesiologist from Centreville. “We really are focusing on the family privacy and just allowing everybody to heal.”
….
Even though he’s walking a little slow, Katz said he intends to be in Dover on Tuesday for the start of the 2011 legislative session. “I wouldn’t miss the first day,” said Katz, who plans to be back at his medical practice later this week.

We hope Mr. Katz and his daughters are not too seriously injured, and that they all recover fully.

Here’s hoping for a speedy recovery. Thankfully he doesn’t need his legs to kick ass.
