Feel the love!

And the House speaker, John A. Boehner, used the phrase “job-destroying” instead of “job-killing” in reference to the Democrats’ health care overhaul in a speech to colleagues on Saturday — a subtle but pointed shift in tone, though not in substance.

The House begins the debate again on this useless gesture to appease the GOP base.

Does this mean I can’t pronounce his name “Boner” anymore?

It does not matter what one calls this bill. Whether it’s called ‘job killing’ or job destroying,’ the bottom line is that, in this nascent (and yes, job ‘less’) recovery, this bill, which should be called the ‘sucks-the-life-out-of-small-medium-and-large-businesses-at-a-time-when-jobs-are-vital-to-an-economic-recovery-in-the-aftermath-of-one-of-the-worst-recessions-since-the-Great-Depression’ act or 2011, should be repealed and replaced.

There’s nearly $2 trillion ready and waiting on the sidelines. Let’s not quibble over a word that scores more points in Scrabble than the other more succinct name. Pacification killed (err), ‘down-graded’ the cat.

I wouldn’t mind killing some jobs in the health insurance sector. You can hire three people to empty bedpans for the salary of one middle manager whose job is to deny claims.

To any teabag Republican who thinks he knows about the economics of health insurance – show me your P&L and I’ll show you mine.
