Olbermann’s New Gig
Keith Olbermann announced on Tuesday that he will host a one-hour, nightly primetime show on Current TV starting in late spring. He will also become the “chief news officer” for Current.
In a conference call with reporters, Olbermann said that “nothing is more vital to a free America than a free media, “and nothing is more vital to my concept of a free media than news that is produced independently of corporate interference.”” and called Current “the model truth seeking entity” in television. He called his new show “the most exciting event in my career.”
He said the show “will be for all intents and purposes an improved and we hope amplified and stronger version of the show that I just did at my previous network.” He said the name and time of the show have not been figured out yet.
Why not? He made MSNBC, perhaps he can do it again with Current.

I don’t think Current TV is on Verizon FIOS, but I will be watching.
Usually, pundits and reporters at small, two-bit media organizations try to advance to bigger media markets with a respectable sized audience. Olbermann’s reportorial and investigative skills have turned up one even more insignificant than MSNBC. If that doesn’t work out, maybe he can get a job sweeping the floor at the little AM radio station in my hometown. Hell, they might even let him cover the Friday Night high school football games. Anybody know how I can get in touch with him? I would prefer not to disturb his bathtub time.
