Welcome to your Wednesday open thread. I don’t know about you but I’m ready for the April showers to end. Bring on the may flowers!
I guess the media has decided that crazy sells. We’ve got Donald Trump and Charlie Sheen going publicly crazy (Sheen came out as a birther yesterday, BTW) so what can the media do to top that? They can go to homicidal crazy – Charles Manson. The Spanish version of Vanity Fair interviewed Charles Manson.
“Everyone’s God and if we don’t wake up to that there’s going to be no weather because our polar caps are melting because we’re doing bad things to the atmosphere,” he said. “The automobiles and fossil fuels are destroying the atmosphere and we won’t have air to breathe.
“If we don’t change that as rapidly as I’m speaking to you now, if we don’t put the green back on the planet and put the trees back that we’ve butchered, if we don’t go to war against the problem … ” he added, trailing off.
He went on to describe Mr Obama as “a slave of Wall Street”. “I think Obama is an idiot for doing what he’s doing,” he said, in his first published words since the late 1980s. “They’re playing with him.”
Thanks media! I can’t wait to hear from the rest of the insane population. Perhaps they can interview Mark David Chapman on what he thinks about Jodie Foster’s latest movie.
Wisconsin is making history this year. Democrats have filed their fourth recall petition.
In the entire history of the state of Wisconsin, organizers have only managed to trigger recall elections four times.
Today, Dems are set to file the signatures they need for the recall election of their fourth Wisconsin GOP state senator this year: Sheila Harsdorf. Graham Zielinski, a spokesman for the Wisconsin Democratic Party, tells me Dems will submit over 23,000 signatures — nearly 150 percent of the 15,744 required.
Dems have already submitted the signatures required for recall elections against state senators Dan Kapanke, Randy Hopper, and Luther Olsen.
Republicans in Wisconsin say they have enPugh signatures to recall one Democratic senator, but they haven’t filed the petition yet. There is still another week to go before the deadline passes.
