Wednesday Open Thread
Welcome to your Wednesday open thread. I don’t know about you but I’m ready for the April showers to end. Bring on the may flowers!
I guess the media has decided that crazy sells. We’ve got Donald Trump and Charlie Sheen going publicly crazy (Sheen came out as a birther yesterday, BTW) so what can the media do to top that? They can go to homicidal crazy – Charles Manson. The Spanish version of Vanity Fair interviewed Charles Manson.
“Everyone’s God and if we don’t wake up to that there’s going to be no weather because our polar caps are melting because we’re doing bad things to the atmosphere,” he said. “The automobiles and fossil fuels are destroying the atmosphere and we won’t have air to breathe.
“If we don’t change that as rapidly as I’m speaking to you now, if we don’t put the green back on the planet and put the trees back that we’ve butchered, if we don’t go to war against the problem … ” he added, trailing off.
He went on to describe Mr Obama as “a slave of Wall Street”. “I think Obama is an idiot for doing what he’s doing,” he said, in his first published words since the late 1980s. “They’re playing with him.”
Thanks media! I can’t wait to hear from the rest of the insane population. Perhaps they can interview Mark David Chapman on what he thinks about Jodie Foster’s latest movie.
Wisconsin is making history this year. Democrats have filed their fourth recall petition.
In the entire history of the state of Wisconsin, organizers have only managed to trigger recall elections four times.
Today, Dems are set to file the signatures they need for the recall election of their fourth Wisconsin GOP state senator this year: Sheila Harsdorf. Graham Zielinski, a spokesman for the Wisconsin Democratic Party, tells me Dems will submit over 23,000 signatures — nearly 150 percent of the 15,744 required.
Dems have already submitted the signatures required for recall elections against state senators Dan Kapanke, Randy Hopper, and Luther Olsen.
Republicans in Wisconsin say they have enPugh signatures to recall one Democratic senator, but they haven’t filed the petition yet. There is still another week to go before the deadline passes.

As a curious trencherman, I always wanted to hear Jeffry Dahmer’s take on the preparation and consumption of human flesh.
So, I haven’t posted on here in a LONG time. Mainly because, as a young person, I have seen for the first time what happens when you back a politician: Your heart gets ripped out.
I am here to talk about what I saw on Bill Mahr last night. For his guests he had ex-RNC Chairman Michael Steele, Ed Schultz from the Ed Show, and the woman who runs ABC’s political bureau (sorry, can’t remember her name!).
Am I the only liberal who thinks Ed Schultz and Bill Mahr are complete fucking idiots? They might as well have been stroking President Obama under the table. Everything they said pandered to their audience and wasn’t the least bit rational. Yeah, I know, I am watching The Bill fucking Mahr Show. Don’t any of them have any self respect?
The woman from ABC sounded smart enough, but she couldn’t get a word in with the other 3 at the table.
And to top it all off, Michael Steele, without the burden of being RNC Chairman, was the only person making any sort of sense. Some of what he said was partisan, but less than half. It just made sense. I want to clarify that I am a democrat.
Wow…. I stewed over that all night in my hotel room. Thank god for beer and work.
Do us all a favor callit and don’t post here ANY more.
You are obviously a TEABAGGING BLUNT-SKULL.
Michael Steele making sense? HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA…to infinity!
I can’t stand it.
Joe Biden last December:
Joe Biden yesterday, now that there is zero chance it will happen, bravely says:
skippertee,
Thanks, your exactly what I hate about politics. Only flock to where you are agreed with. God forbid anyone try to engage in conversation with a differing opinion.
Did you watch the clip from Bill Mahr? Probably not.
I like the folks on this site which is why I come here often, I just haven’t wanted to be a part of the conversation in a while.
Hey, good luck to you.
J.
I looked and couldn’t find. I saw it in my hotel room last night on HBO…
callit, did you intend to include the Bill Maher clip to your post, because I can’t find it.
Yea, callit, I saw the Bill Mahr where Ed Schultz destroyed Michael Steele.
When he asked Steele about what SENIORS were supposed to do when their vouchers [worth $8,ooo] were used up and they STILL had health issues, STEELS answered: “We don’t know yet.”
That’s FUCKING FANTASTIC!!!
And BUDDY, I was in Media,PA.,on the line Monday,at a rally against Bank of America.
So GO FUCK YOURSELF!
You been to a TEABAGGER RALLY, cheesedick?
Somehow I knew you were going to bring up the vouchers…being that is was the only thing Ed Schultz had right.
…Michael Steele didn’t have an answer for it. I can’t remember what I said, but I think it was something like, “Some of what he said was partisan, but less than half.” So if you were calm and understood how to have a conversation, you would have taken away that I agreed mostly with him, but not on everything.
I’m happy for you that you went to a rally, buddy. What does that have to do with what I brought up?
If you ever want to be a tough guy during a real conversation, ask the admins to give you my email and I’d love to grab a beer with you and talk politics.
J.
And the vouchers were $15,000, which would most definitely be used up by year end….
“am I the only liberal who thinks Ed Schultz and Bill Mahr are complete fucking idiots?”
Nope. They are both just like Hannity and Rush.. In it for the money and the ratings. They just happen to scream things liberals like to hear, where as the other guys scream things Klansmen like to hear (i know, i know not all GOP are in the klan, but deal with it. im in a bad mood)
Ed Shultz is a loud bloated egomaniac. Remember when he was a RIGHT WING radio host? that didnt last long because there were enough fat white men from flyover country spewing right wing hate. SO he switched sides and got a bigger paycheck. Talk about a Carpet Bagger
Callit, i also agree with you about supporting a cause and having your spirit dashed. Ive thought about it a while now, and I think before i get all Ra Ra Obama again, i need to see him LITERALLY kick McConnell in the teeth. After that, say it was a huge mistake trying to work with the Teapublicans (he has to say teapublicans) and that the only answer to our country’s problems is a return to the Eisenhower tax rate for everyone making over 500k a year…. not combined household income, but individual.
OK callit, lets get a beer.I live in New Castle County and have never been arrested for a violent crime.
Actually, I’ve never been arrested.
It’s on my Bucket List.
me either. i recently moved from dewey beach to dc for work. I make it to new castle every few months…
…When is the next drinking liberally?
I’m adding arrested to my bucket listed as we speak!
“Thanks media! I can’t wait to hear from the rest of the insane population.”
Thank you! I for one get sick & tired hearing from the sociopaths and watching the media act as if they are secret–albeit evil–geniuses, worthy of attention for their opinions. In my experience w/ them, their sociopathology vitiates and permeates their entire thinking process. They are a good study of dysfunction, not of wisdom.
OK , callit,Drinking Liberally it will be.
You take care now.
My bark is much worse than my bite.
Okay, okay… I’ll schedule a DL event in May.
Phils losing streak is over. On to San Diego!
Pandora, not that I’m biased, but if you did the annual Sussex/Reboboth DL in May, the touristas would be fewer and we could get better places to park.
Graph after graph brutally showing how everything sucks in states with lower taxes.
Yep. I’ve always said that the teabgaz want to turn us into a low tax paradise like Mississippi.
Well all right now!
Ryan gets booed at his own Town Hall for his opposition to taxing upper income folks.
Just got a call from a polling service for the GOP. I played along. High marks for Bachmann and Trump. 🙂
Repukes are starting to read the polls. Even righty newsmax HAD to report the WashingtonPost and ABC poll…majority of americans say “dont touch meidcare, medicaid or social security”! So now that their teeny tiny brains have latched on to some facts, what else can we expect?
Quinepac has new poll. In a match with Chris Christi dumbo, fatso from NJ…Obama would kick his ass 52% -39%. Ryan is booed in his own townhall, his constituents have more facts than he does…thinking the tea baggers have seen their last days.
If I drink liberally in Sussex/Rehobeth in May, I’ll have to sleep under the boardwalk.
Which is cool.
‘cept for the coppers who’ll sniff me out.
But wait. Then a cell would be my umbrella.
Oh Happy Days!
Repukes are starting to read the polls
OK. Just remember that in June 2009, the public option was supported by a sizable majority of Americans.
Then Obama handed it off to a bipartisan committee inclluding Baucus, who let it hang there all summer so teabaggers could beat it like a pinata, while Obama couldn’t find the microphone on the bully pulpit. By the time the bill came up, Obama was signaling capitulation and support for the public option was split pretty evenly.
Flash forward to now… Support for tax increases for the rich is high, and Obama is handing it off to a bipartisan committee including Baucus…
Anybody want to guess how this movie ends?
“Anybody want to guess how this movie ends?”
Here is a hint to how the movie will end:
