I’m not even sure what TSD is, so I’m making no promises about the content. (My contribution, when they get around to posting it, is pretty good.) In addition to being a liberal, I am a business owner and I have co-authored a book on the topic of employee satisfaction. I see employee engagement as the best way for companies to build a durable competitive advantage in the post tech-boom world. Delaware companies that “get it” are going to be the focus of my writerly efforts for as long as TSD can stomach having a liberal on the contributor’s list.
What’s that? A little snark already? Oh yes.
If you want to read a bright, sunny introductory post about TSD read Tommywonk’s. If you want to read about TSD from someone who is jaded by a few years of dealing with Delaware Republicans read on.
For now consider me a TSD skeptic. All I know about townsquaredelaware.com is what the “about” page says about townsquaredelaware.com. Mainly, that it is supposed to be a non-partisan “forum for the most productive, provocative and positive dialogue about the issues, people and places that make our state unique.”
That sounds worthy, right? But read the contributors list and you will see that Delaware Republican contributors out number Democrats by about 9 to 1. Worse still, one of the contributors is the execrable CRI’s extremely execrable John Stapleford, and another well known Delaware Republican came out swinging against Jack Markell on day one. Day one! Hurray for non-partisanship! Hurray for positive dialogue!
Beyond that all I know is that they aren’t saying who is behind it and that makes me a little nervous. We’ll see what happens. Tom Noyes might know more about this operation than I do, so maybe he is right to be sunny and I am wrong to be gloomy.
It certainly would not be the first time he was right and I was wrong.
