Someone Finally Said It

“It’s fair to say that the engagement there is not in any meaningful way,” Reid said. “Republican leaders still refuse to negotiate in good faith.”

Greg Sargent calls them out: [Oops! It was actually Jonathan Bernstein’s post, not Sargent’s. Sorry.]
There are no moderate, sane Republicans left in the GOP.
This is why I was so angry at Mike Castle:
But the truth is that if you constantly act as crazy as Michele Bachmann and Steve King and Louie Gohmert, then there’s not really any difference between you and them, even if you really know better.
This can’t be said often enough.
This is why I was so angry at Mike Castle:
Jason–I’m still angry at Castle because he & his “Delaware Way” friends in the real estate bidness stuck it to my parents 30+ years ago. Castle was a slumlord–I lived in one of his “slum” houses until I was 10 years old. Castle & his investment partners owned 8 units in Yorklyn. My dad was born in one of those units & lived his whole life there. Castle et. al. decided to sell in 1980. My dad wasn’t rich, but he had a decent job at Dupont, a fair amount of savings & a great credit rating. He offered Castle & partners a fair price for the property. The selling realtor refused to present the offer to the ownership group for the sole reason that my dad was a current tenant. The house eventually sold for less than my parents had offered. This was snobbery/gentrification at its finest.
Funny thing is, my parents and our immediate neighbors were the only 2 tenants who were actually PAYING rent!
