Polling Fix
A new McClatchy-Marist Poll finds 68% of American adults believe the worst of the country’s economic conditions are yet to come but 59% still don’t blame President Obama for the nation’s current economic conditions and 61% think he inherited them. Which happens to be true.
On the generic congressional ballot, a new Gallup poll shows Democrats leading Republicans, 51% to 44%. It’s the biggest leads Dems have had in about three years.
Meanwhile, Public Policy Polling also shows Democrats with a seven-point lead on the generic-ballot question, 47% to 40%.
In North Carolina and Colorado, two states you would think the President would be in trouble in given their supposed new “swing state” status, PPP shows President Obama leading all of his top Republican presidential challengers in both states, by margins ranging from three points (vs. Romney) to 13 points (vs. Cain and Palin) in North Carolina, and by margins ranging from seven points (vs. Romney) to 16 points (vs. Cain and Palin) in Colorado. Georgia and Mississippi are also potentially competitive next year. Yes, you read that right.
