A GOP Debate at UDel?

Filed in National by on August 13, 2011

That’s the rumor, from the back channel to the hive mind of the state GOP itself, Celia Cohen.

No one is saying anything officially, because the arrangements are still in the planning stages, but the state Republicans are working with the University of Delaware to bring a debate, approved by the national Republican Party, to the Newark campus. It would probably be scheduled the last week in November and most likely broadcast on CNN, in advance of the crucial opening rounds of the Iowa caucuses and the New Hampshire primary.

By then, the race will be crowded with two more candidates in the race: Rick Perry and Sarah Palin. Although, a number of candidates might be gone from the GOP primary by then too: Rick Santorum, Herman Cain, Thad McCotter and Newt Gingrich.

And they will all be here. Oh joy.

Sounds like a good night for a “We Want Jobs” or a “Corporations are not People” demonstration.
