Delaware Park Poker Room Attempts To Set Guinness World Record for Longest Continuous Poker Tournament

A low tolerance for sleep deprivation kept me out of Project Mercury, so this isn’t for me. Interesting nevertheless.

WILMINGTON, Del.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Delaware Park’s Ironman Poker Tournament, sponsored by Red Bull, WIP Sports Radio and Mobius New Media, will begin August 20 at noon and is expected to run continuously for over 36 hours straight. Delaware Park will be attempting to set a Guinness World Record for the “Longest Continuous Poker Tournament.” The Tournament has a guaranteed prize pool of $100,000 and will be broadcast live at http://www.delawarepark.com/ironman.php. The Buy-In is $500 (plus $40 entry fee and $10 staff bonus) and is limited to 350 seats (alternates will be seated as seats become available). Besides the chance to take home the championship and the 1st place prize of at least $24,000, players will have the opportunity to be a part of poker history.
