Obama couldn’t sell snow cones in Hell:

Despite Republican opposition, Democrats are launching a push to continue last December’s payroll tax cut through 2012.

If Repubs vote against extending the tax cuts, how will that get past Grover Norquist?

    Oh yeah, the hurricane.

  2. Geezer says:

Obama also can’t stop the hurricane. Shouldn’t we throw our support to someone who promises us he can?

  3. puck says:

I just found it ironic that now we can’t even get Repubs to pass tax cuts.

  4. anonone says:

Speaking of hurricanes, Obama now at 38% approval, 54% disapproval. Ready for a republican sweep of the Presidency, House, and Senate in 2012?

We just had a dann earthquake I think. It’s still going on.

  6. Same here, Puck. Lasted about 30 seconds. Do you live in Brandywine Hundred?

  7. anonone says:

I was about to post the same thing. Our whole house was shaking in Brandywine 100.

  8. Rebecca says:

Here too. Now I’ll go straighten all the pictures.

  9. puck says:

Hockessin. About 30 seconds. I just spoke with someone who felt it in Elkton.

  10. People at DailyKos are saying that DC also has had some tremors. No, not of the political variety.

  11. PBaumbach says:

we felt it in west Newark

i just heard 5.8 on the scale

  12. anonone says:

It was caused by Obama’s approval ratings dropping below 40%.

  13. PBaumbach says:

yahoo notes “5.8 earthquake hits D.C., Virginia, New York”

  14. Rebecca says:

They evacuated the Pentagon and the Capitol.

  15. anon says:

    So what’s more likely …

    (A) Someone left the @DelDems Twitter account open at HQ and someone on the cleaning crew used it to tweet about legalizing pot

    or

    (B) Someone on the Delaware Democratic Party staff meant to tweet about pot to their personal account, and didn’t look to see who they were logged in as.

  16. heragain says:

    B is the only answer.

Awesome… New Castle County used to balance the budget with taxes paid by working people. Now we balance the budget by selling their stuff:

Clark’s office Tuesday released a statement saying 3 point 2 million dollars in revenue from sheriff’s sales and 1 point 4 million from large real estate transactions, along with cost-cutting measures, mean the County’s projected 7 million-dollar budget deficit never materialized.

I tell you, we are wasting our time with quixotic and futile attempts at “job creation.” New Castle County has shown the way to balance the budget without jobs. This method could keep the government funded for at least the next decade.

  18. jason330 says:

To really monetize that, you’d need to set up two realities shows. One showing the excitement of poor people buying other poor people’s stuff at auction. The other depicting the heartbreak of poor people having their stuff sold to other poor people at auction.

  19. puck says:

They could chant “Move That Bus!” and when the bus pulls away all their stuff is gone.

Howdy from the Atlantic coast of Sebastian, FL. Heading up to Myrtle Beach,SC on Friday. Wishing you well. Looks like we will be ok.

P.S There is a big argument for not allowing beer sales in whatever type of store. The only mildly interesting brew I can find anywhere around here (even Vero Beach) is Sierra Nevada Pale.

Fresh Air is doing an interview right now (91 FM) with an expert on Christian dominionism, which Perry and Palin are both connected to. This has not gotten nearly enough media attention. Fresh Air is rebroadcast several times, and there is always the podcast at whyy.org.
