The Republican Primary Shuffle

Tradition has it that the Presidential Primary season goes like this: Iowa caucuses followed by the New Hampshire primary. It’s looking like the retirement communities of Arizona and Florida are looking to upset the apple cart and move their primaries to the front of the pack on January 31st. What does the Republican National Committee have to say about this?

The 2012 Republican primary contest might be all anyone can talk about these days, but there still isn’t a very clear picture of what the primary calendar even looks like. With just months left before the first votes, the Republican National Committee has done little to reduce the uncertainty: GOP officials have yet to issue a final decision on which states will be first in 2012, and it’s not clear when they will.

But if you love the certainty of Iowa and New Hampshire being first, never fear, because there is a plan in place. They will move their primaries to December!
