Szczerba Funeral Set for Friday

A public viewing for the New Castle County Police officer Joe Szczerba, who was killed last week in the line of duty, will be held on Friday, September 23, at 9 a.m. at the Chase Center on the Riverfront in Wilmington. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 1 p.m. The burial will be private.

Szczerba’s family is asking that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to any one of several organizations including: Faithful Friends in Wilmington, the Delaware Wildlife Rehabilitators Association in Newark, the Tri-State Bird Rescue and Research Center in Newark and/or the Sunday Breakfast Mission in Wilmington.
