Don Ayotte Gets Called Out By Fellow Contributor At Delaware Politics

I was beginning to wonder when this was going to happen.  Mr. Ayotte’s M.O. is to delete comments that he simply doesn’t like and make him look bad… and it happens a lot!   This time it appears that he deleted a comment that showed his “Bull Roast” was benefiting a PAC (The 35th District Conservative Committee) that some commenters claim have (and will) primaried sitting Republican office holders.

25Tennessee Walker

Based on what I have determined Don Ayotte has engaged and continues to engage in censorship. He deleted a post that only had links to public Campaign Finance sites.

Sadly, this is all too typical of Don Ayotte. He gets his butt kicked by a commenter so he deletes the post. Don insults commenters and engages in personal insults and name calling and if anyone responds he deletes the post as a personal attack. He has abused his authority on way too many occasions.

Don you need to reinstate the deleted post forthwith or I will post what you have deleted and thereby expose you for the blatant hypocrisy that you are.

Say something about Don or someone he likes?  You’re censored.  Don says the equivalent to you?  Comment stands.

Perhaps, David Anderson should run a blog contributor refresher course… but, hey, it’s his blog, so it’s his call.

Since writing this Mr. Ayotte posted saying that David told him to shut down the comments.  Somebody might be getting a time-out!

Gaddafi’s “Darling” is Pissed at Cheney

Well, we now know at least one person read Dick Cheney’s tell-nothing book, Condoleezza Rice. And she’s pissed.

Speaking in an interview with Reuters, Rice rejected Cheney’s contention that she misled President George W. Bush about nuclear diplomacy with North Korea.

“I kept the president fully and completely informed about every in and out of the negotiations with the North Koreans,” Rice said in her first public comments on the matter. “You can talk about policy differences without suggesting that your colleague somehow misled the president. You know, I don’t appreciate the attack on my integrity that that implies.”

How Low Can He Go?

America’s most feared serial killer, Gov. Dick Perry of Texas is getting ready to kill another innocent man. At 234, and sadly still counting, is there nothing that can stop this man?

But a lesser-known case could also haunt the governor if it reaches his desk: that of Larry Swearingen, convicted and sent to death row for the kidnapping, rape and murder of a 19-year-old college freshman named Melissa Trotter in 1998. Like Willingham, Swearingen was convicted largely on circumstantial evidence and a history of run-ins with the law. But Willingham was convicted based on the inexact science of arson investigations, whose flawed assumptions have been slow to evolve. The scientific evidence in Swearingen’s case, medical experts say, is beyond dispute—and it proves his innocence.

Karen Weldin Stewart: Bag of Hammers

I was driving around the other day and heard Karen Weldin Stewart on the Jensen Show.  Do yourself a favor and listen to the interview. She reminds me of the way that Rich Kotite was when he was the Eagles coach.  He did great at the beginning of the game when he had scripted the plays.  It all went downhill from there.

Stewart sounds at least a little like she knows what she is talking about, but as the interview proceeds, it becomes apparent that she doesn’t know WTF she is talking about. As a listener, I learned nothing from her after the first 2 minutes.  It is very hard to listen to her after that.  And it gets harder as it goes along, but there are breaks in the pain when Gene Reed breaks in.  In fact, you can hear Reed feeding answers to Stewart as it goes along.

As the saying goes, she is as dumb as a bag of hammers.

Primary day 2012 can’t come soon enough for me.

“Dr” John E. Stapleford’s Intellectual Dishonesty Ratio Hits 1:1

There is so much intellectual dishonesty embedded in this short CRI blurb, one can only imagine the beating that Stapey puts on the truth in the balance of the article.

The latest data on state to state migration confirms that folks vote rationally with their feet and that Delaware legislators are in denial about this fact.

Census data shows that two-thirds of the net migrants into Delaware from 2007-09 came from just four states: New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania and Massachusetts. Not surprisingly, these states have among the highest tax burdens, strong unions, and sluggish economies.

Two-thirds of the net out-migrants from Delaware went to five states: North Carolina, Florida, South Carolina, Kentucky and Tennessee. All the states have comparatively low tax burdens, four are right to work, and these four have higher growth economies…

For every factual statement, there is an intellectually dishonest rejoinder. Whoever conferred the doctorate on Stapey continues to be buried in shame.

College Search

The Pandora household has been consumed with searching for colleges for our son.  We’ve read countless brochures, surfed the web until I can’t stand looking at my computer, and have traveled by car and plane to visit campuses (U of D, Pitt, Penn State, U of M, Boston U, MIT, Stony Brook,  NYU,  Temple, etc).  Quite simply, we have officially overloaded on higher education.  My son doesn’t have his heart set on any university.  The only thing he knows is he wants to major in engineering – he wants to build things and thinks math is as fun as XBox.

The cost of college tuition for an undergrad degree is nuts – with most kids leaving college approximately 200,000.00 in debt and a slim chance of ever recouping that investment.  If college was a stock it would be a risky investment.

All that said, of course he’s going.  The question is where.  We’ve decided to apply to a boatload of schools since you don’t really find out what sort of financial aid/scholarship package is offered until you pay your application fee and submit your application.

That’s where we are.  Any advice, helpful hints, would be greatly appreciated.  Thanks!

As The DC Turns

Yesterday, the Obama Administration announced that the President’s job speech was going to happen on September 7th, the date of the first Republican Presidential debate that Dick Perry was going to participate in. Boehner whined some, and the administration caved in. Two things happened that I was expecting: Obama acquiesced and the Republicans proved that jobs are not really that important to them.

Denn Highlights Education Successes

In yesterday’s News Journal Lt. Gov. Matt Denn wrote a op-ed highlighting some of the successes we’ve had in education in Delaware. Denn mentions some cultural changes that are occurring in school districts throughout  the state as calling out some districts for excuse making. In his piece, Denn points out his office’s 2nd annual report on education spending that was released in May. If you have read this before, you should do so, it makes for interesting reading.

Denn also writes about programs in two schools Anna P. Mote Elementary and McIlvaine Early Learning Center that work on increasing parent involvement. For me, parental involvement is the lynch-pin issue for school success. I’m not talking about parents attending school meetings, participating in PTA, etc., — no, what I’m talking about is something more fundamental: making sure your child does all their homework and that your child gets a good night sleep. But I digress. As I mentioned before, Denn’s annual report is something you should really read.

Asshat of the Day

It’s been quite a while since we’ve given one of these out, but I couldn’t resist today.

Some people are just selfish asses when it comes to helping out neighbors in an emergency.

Flooding and strong winds from Hurricane Irene over the weekend tore up Prime Hook Road through the Prime Hook National Wildlife Refuge. The road is the only public access to dozens of homes along the Delaware Bay.

The only other way to reach Primehook Beach — also known as Shorts Beach — is through Back Bay Cove, a private gated community to the south.

On Sunday, community owner Sam Burke initially refused to allow residents and the Delaware National Guard to use his road. He explained that Back Bay Cove residents pay a premium for a private community and don’t want their road to become public.

So the answer to this problem – DelDOT is going to pay this bastard $500/day so that the residents of Primehook Beach can reach their homes and start cleaning up the damage from Hurricane Irene.

“I thought it was a bit chintzy, myself,” Burke said. “I think it’s worth more than that, but that’s what the state was willing to pay.”

There’s a special place in Hell for people like Sam Burke.

As The Tea Party Turns II

Man oh man, does the implosion of the Tea Party get any better than this. BTW when you begin organizations based solely on hate, the groups tend to have problems. Anywho, up in the north, the Tea Party Express has invited Mitt Romney to speak. However, FreedoomWorks (or Dick Armey) are quite upset and are headed up to New Hampshire with pitchforks and torches in hand.

Cooking up the popcorn right now.

As The Tea Party Turns

The latest we from yesterday about the Iowa teabacle is that Palin is coming and O’Donnell isn’t. What’s going to happen today? The fervent hope of all Tea Partiers is that Palin and O’Donnell will share the stage together, get into a cat fight, the heavens will open up with a tremendous downpour and the two will end up making out. But what do you think will really happen?
