Congressional overreach now to extend to legal use of drugs in foreign countries.
The House Judiciary Committee passed a bill yesterday that would make it a federal crime for U.S. residents to discuss or plan activities on foreign soil that, if carried out in the U.S., would violate the Controlled Substances Act (CSA) — even if the planned activities are legal in the countries where they’re carried out. The new law, sponsored by Judiciary Committee Chairman Rep. Lamar Smith (R-Texas) allows prosecutors to bring conspiracy charges against anyone who discusses, plans or advises someone else to engage in any activity that violates the CSA, the massive federal law that prohibits drugs like marijuana and strictly regulates prescription medication
Better cancel that wedding trip to Amsterdam.
NYC Mayor Michael Bloomberg doesn’t want any tax increases on the wealthy and has been an opponent of the Occupy Wall Street movement…… and Ralph Nader wants him to run for President, a few weeks after praising Sarah Palin’s intelligence. Other than Republicans, there is no politician I hate with a blinding passion more than Ralph Nader.
The Constitution is an inherently progressive document. No shit.
Appearing soon on Jerry Springer:
I’m with you on the Nader hate. I totally blame him for Bush being elected in 2000.
Bush was not elected in 2000. He lost the popular vote and the vote counting in Florida was stopped by a partisan SCOTUS. Stop blaming Nader for the Republicans stealing an election.
Any surprise that a law trying to regulate free thought come from the constitution humping GOP? soon it will be a crime to say “im moving to canada to get away from these fuck-twits”
The stealing of Florida would not have been possible but for Nader. Without Nader on the ballot and attacking Gore as being exactly the same as Bush, which was an outright lie, many of those who voted for him would have voted for Gore.
So I will until the end of time, no matter what you say, blame Nader for 2000.
attacking Gore as being exactly the same as Bush, which was an outright lie
Ironically, Democrats are now continuing those Bush policies we voted against in 2000. So it wasn’t really a lie – it just took a little time to come true.
At least Bush knew when it was time to send everybody a stimulus check to keep the pitchforks and torches away from Wall Street.
It was a lie then. That was my point. And you cannot deny it was a lie then.
The only thing more annoying and stupid that Ralph Nader is a Ralph Nader apologist.
True. We would probably not have had the Bush tax cuts, which are now destroying the economy for a second decade, with today’s Democrats ready to double down on them.
Of course, we would also have VP Lieberman (President by now). So we might well have had the Iraq War anyway.
Why aren’t the OWS types protesting this fat cat from Chicago?

Wait, he’s union.
Never mind.
Coons helps launch law enforcement caucus
That is good news. It is about time Congress started looking into the excesses of law enforcement.
Oh wait –
*sigh* … Same old, same old. Only more of it.
