It’s not what he hasn’t done; it’s what he’s done wrong. Letting the tax cut expiration deliberately slip through his fingers is an ongoing economic and political disaster. Switching the tax reform agenda from “Let the Bush tax cuts expire” to “Bowles Simpson tax cuts for the rich” is a disaster yet to fully unfold; it was not even on voter’s radar until Obama sprang it on us for no obvious reason other than to benefit the 1%.
Jury’s still out on the second Great Depression, now made even more likely by Obama’s first-half actions.
