Up until recently I never gave Mitt Romney much thought. He was just sort of there. And while I’d never vote for him, I never viewed him as horrible. Which was why I kept my eye on him. Out of all the Republican candidates Romney was the one I considered the biggest threat to Obama.
The reason I viewed him as a threat was his ability to appear reasonable and sane, and with the economy the way it is I could see people being comfortable with voting for him. I don’t see that any more.
Needless to say, Romney has taken flip-flopping to levels unseen. I expect a certain amount of flip-flopping from candidates from both parties, but Romney’s flip-flopping has reached a point where I have no idea what he stands for. There’s an ugliness to what he’s doing; an untrustworthiness that oozes from him. If elected to the office he covets what would he do as President? I honestly have no idea, and that concerns me.
In my book, Mitt Romney has become the most frightening of the GOP field. I simply can’t stand him, and I hadn’t felt that way about him previously.
