State of Delmarva
So I stumbled upon a diary on Daily Kos that was posted last week, and found it fascinating. The diarist created the State of Delmarva by taking Delaware and adding the Eastern Shore counties of Maryland and Virginia and then examines the effects on redistricting of on this new state.
So Cain’s Over.
Cain gives a Perryesque answer to the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel on Libya, and then comes out in support of collective bargaining rights. He has already dropped 11 points in one poll, and Gingrich takes the lead in another. So the dream is over.
Zombie Casino Alert! Part II
Another article in the NJ today provides some information on the purported losses to Delaware casinos as a result of the added competition from Maryland and Pennsylvania. An industry group points to a 2.5% loss of revenue over 2010 numbers, while the casinos point to a 13% loss in revenues for slots.
Evan Queitsch Announces Candidacy
Evan Queitsch will run against Senator Anthony DeLuca. He’s set up a website. His motto: We can make Delaware the 1st State once again! He also seems to be against literacy.
Occupy Delaware Coverage in the News Journal
If all publicity is good publicity, the Occupy Delaware people have plenty to be pleased about with yesterday’s News Journal coverage.
“100 Protesters” feels like a large number and for the first few paragraphs the coverage was relatively free of the sneering condescension that NJ editors typically spray all over stories like this.
Funny, He Doesn’t Look Jewish
“Cain said he finally realized after much praying that G-D was saying that he needed to enter the presidential race. He compared his situation to Moses, who in the Bible initially questions whether G-D has chosen the right person to lead the Israelites out of slavery in Egypt.”
Herman, I knew Moses. Moses was a Jewish prophet of mine. Herman, your no Moses. (with apologies to Lloyd Bentsen)
Wow. This Apple store is packed.
I just logged in from a demo computer in the Apple store. (If anybody knows another Amish with mad skillz like mine, I’d like to meet them.) Anyway… there does not seem to be a recession in here.
Saturday Open Thread [11.12.11]
Since the Occupy Wall Street movement began, it has been hard for the media and ourselves to judge if the protest is working. This is because the protestors don’t have a single leader, or organization, or a list of demands. But this chart may be the only way we can tell that it is working.
Memories of Mitt
It seems like just yesterday that John McCain was the “not Romney.”
And has it really been 4 years since we really first grasped how bigoted and crazy the GOP base had become?
