The Sheriff Stands for ‘Merica
In his never ending quest to show that he has the biggest penis in Southern Delaware, Sussex County Teabag Sheriff Jeff Christopher believes he’s sovereign over everything and everyone one in the county. So much so that he sent the following email out to numerous county employees, news people, and anyone else he decided he had to puff his chest out to.
First off, I doubt that the taxpayer-funded government email system was supposed to be used in this manner. Political messages should be sent from a personal email account, not a government account. If he had done this from a Federal government email, he’d be fired.
Second, the website the sheriff and his loyal subjects from up North direct people to is scary as all get out. “Wild Bill” (apparently he has no last name) has ties to the Sovereign Citizen movement, which the SPLC has deemed racist. Watch the video and then listen to it again and picture Christopher saying the same exact words.
It’s really too bad that we cannot make political candidates undergo a psychological examination before they run for office. If we did, this crazed clown with a gun might not be in office today, terrorizing the citizens of Sussex County with his belief that he is above the law. No wait, he believes he is the law, courts and the Delaware Code be damned.

No doubt Brian Byrne “brian.byrne(at)lawmansupply.com” hears the sound of a cash register bells ringing when he gets emails from Christopher.
Cassandra’s link is fitting here.
That quote is mind-opening. I hadn’t thought to link all the Constitution-breaking Southern radicals across history to the present day. It is easy to forget Newt is from Georgia. He seems like such a creature of Washington.
Actually Newt was born and raised near Harrisburg PA (the gateway to Pennsyltucky), but he became such a radical and a consummate carpetbagger that he fled to the South, just as soon as he had passed from boyhood into adultery.
Was (is) it appropriate to publish all the e-mail addresses of the intended recipients?
Now Newt isn’t such a radical. He’s just GOP conservative in the Reagan tradition. I never thought he’d run for the Presidency after being run out of office way back when. But if Clinton could smoke dope (and lie about it), and if G-Dubs could snort coke and get a DUI, and if O’Bama could be a Muslim, smoke dope and not lie about it; hey, why not Newt?
The government email addresses are public information. And some of the private email addresses are likely already made public by their owners. But apart from that the private ones should probably be redacted.
Stay on topic, boys.
@anonone – was it appropiate for the sheriff to make it accessible to everyone he sent it to??
more on point – was it appropiate fr it to be sent at all
dont like it? go bitch to your boy, errr….. I mean bitch
The number of government email addresses amazes me because it represents those who are using their government email for non-goverment purposes which constitutes fraud, waste, and abuse (at least within the federal government). This is another indication that the sheriff knows no bounds. If anything like this had showed up in my in box it would jeopardize my clearance. Apparently, there are no rules for some folks.
Just askin’ the question – personally, I don’t think private citizens should be doubly-penalized for the security failings and ignorance of a dofus sherif by having their personal e-mail addresses published on a blog.
Dave – the reason Wyatt Earp sent the email to all of those in the Sussex County government was basically to tell them that he wasn’t going to listen to anything they said. Frank Shade runs the the Purchasing Dept. Susan Webb is the Finance Director. Michael Vincent is President of the County Council.
He has declared himself sovereign to anyone in the county. He’s going to fall and fall hard.
95% of the email addresses are government employees with the exception of St. Bodie Girl and Barbi Christopher. And that is not the point of the post, the point is this man is a lunatic who is going to end up killing someone trying to play cop. This thing is going to end like Waco if they don’t get him out of office soon.
i don’t think the psychological exam would be a good idea, cuz if we did that, we would not have Senator Coons, would we? Just sayin’…
@Lana – you would prefer a witch? – well, YOU would
but most of us obviously prefer a man who at least can interpret the Constitution correctly and know what the amendments actually are.
Sorry that you were not in the majority….
of course your psych exam didnt end so well either – too bad about your radio show as well, and failed blog. Looks like the majority doesn’t support you either – just sayin”…
Listen to what this racist nutjob “Wild Bill” has to say about Muslim women in America:
http://youtu.be/1uoUDyuBnug
How despicable!
interesting mix of law enforcement in there (the CJ.state.de.us is law enforcement that is not state but municipal) and State troopers, media types etc
nothing like letting the whole world know one is insane!
Eureka – I got it – its the walking tall thing – he is so short in real life (vertically challenged I believe is appropiate)that most women are taller than he is. That accouts for the puffed out profile in his pictures – simultaneously trying to suck in his gut while appreaing taller than he actually is.
Im sure St Bodie girl can turn him on to a girdle and lifts in his shoes – actually Bodies HAS a pair of white high heels.
“It’s really too bad that we cannot make political candidates undergo a psychological examination”
Actually large police departments and federal agencies give candidates a psych exam prior to letting them loose on the street. Another reason why we should not let just any yahoo carry a badge and wear a gun. There is nothing that prevents the voters from electing the insane.
That video is chilling. For the Sheriff to send that around means that he is declaring that he is above the law. MJ is quite right to point out that he is basically telling the Sussex government, the state government and the federal government that he answers to a higher authority.
I think the fact that these folks are on the receiving end of this email should protect them from abuse of the standard of use policy. They could say they didn’t ask for Sheriff Wannabe to send them the email. Maybe the private addresses could have been blocked.
One thing is clear: This clown needs to be removed from office.
and the Sussex sheriff is the gift that just keeps on giving:

seems like the ONLY things he is economical with is the truth!
So, is there a penalty for lying in a FOIA response?
Wonder why he thinks John Bell, who is in charge of training at DELJIS, needs to know this bullshit?
Because he’s the supreme law of the land. The Constitution, Wild Bill and Sheriff Mack told him so.
@Aione,
you misunderstood my comment. If COD had to pass the test, witch we know she wouldn’t, Castle would be the senator, so…
After watching the video, I’m more concerned than ever about Sheriff Woody. The idiot in the video recommends that sheriffs have armed standoffs with federal law enforcement officers. Scary stuff. Is this what Woody believes?
in a word – YUP
Have any of our state legislators introduced a bill to make the office of Sheriff in all three counties a non elected official? Or to clearly define the duties and responsibilities of the office of sheriff? This is an office that dates to Medieval England and is open to many interpretations, depending on which state and county you reside. It seems like an issue that the G.A. could and should address.
Blu_Coq,
Quick answer: No.
Markell proposed making the register of wills and recorder of deeds appointed state offices last term, but got a huge blowback from the counties because of the revenue they would have lost. The sheriff’s offices are currently bringing in a crapload of revenue because of the foreclosure boom – such a measure wouldn’t stand a chance.
As a more practical matter, the political parties are never going to agree to such a plan. The row offices provide them with a way to test out candidates for higher office.
