Your Predictions for 2012 [Here are Mine]
A non-Mitt Romney candidate will win the Iowa Caucuses. But a Mitt Romney candidate will be the Republican nominee for President. There will be a third party candidate from the right, I just can’t decide if it will be Ron Paul, Donald Trump or Sarah Palin.
The economy will continue to improve, more steadily than in 2011 or 2010. But the unemployment rate will still be in the 7% to 8% range.
President Obama will win reelection rather easily, relatively speaking. The size of the victory will be less than Clinton ’96 but more than Bush ’04.
The Dems will gain 20-25 seats in the House, which is close to a majority.
Speaker Boehner will not last the year in the Speaker’s chair.
Tony Deluca will survive a strong primary challenge.
Karen Weldin Stewart will not.
Governor Markell and Lt. Governor Denn will both win reelection in landslides.
Congressman Carney will survive a closer race with Tom Kovach, who will not be Christine O’Donnell-ed.
Sussex County conservatives will continue to embarrass themselves.
The Dems will keep control of the General Assembly.
Andy Reid will be the coach of the Philadelphia Eagles in 2012.
The Philadelphia Phillies will return to the World Series.
The Philadelphia Flyers will win the Stanley Cup.
Anonone will post frequently on his hatred of President Obama, well into 2013.
And if you pull My left leg it will play jingle bells
The Obamas will purchase his and her private jets when they become private citizens next year.
Jose Mourinho will return to England as manager of Chelsea football club.
The Bush tax cuts will not expire on schedule one year from tomorrow. Or if they do, they will be replaced by something worse.
Thus, if the economy “continues to improve” it will be because most of us have capitulated and agreed to adjust to a permanently lower standard of living.
“The Bush tax cuts will not expire on schedule one year from tomorrow.”
Yea… But the Dems should ask the GOP to PAY for them.
HA!!
“Jose Mourinho will return to England as manager of Chelsea football club.”
You think that Lampard, Torres, and Drogba will actually let that happen??
And if they want Mourinho, why are they trying for Kaka?
“You think that Lampard, Torres, and Drogba will actually let that happen??”
Lampard has not been starting lately. Torres has been shit since they signed him for 70 mil pounds, and Drogba will probably be leaving. So to answer your question, yes I think they will let that happen. Not that they have any say in it anyway.
Ron Paul has nothing to lose by running 3rd party. He’s in his late 70s (I think), he’s given up his House seat. It’s his last hurrah. He probably thinks he can steal the youth vote from Obama and help the GOP.
Sussex County Sheriff Jeff Christopher will be removed from office by the Governor.
Patrick Harker will become president of a Big Time football school.
Liane Sorensen will be invited to join the Markell administration.
Bill Montgomery will win the mayoral primary with 45 percent of the vote.
Paul Clark will lose the NCC executive primary with 45 percent of the vote.
Karen Weldin Stewart will lose the IC primary with 45 percent of the vote.
Mike Castle will do no events with the GOP Senate or House nominees.
No shovels will turn in the Stoltz fiasco at Barley Mill.
The News-Journal will sell fewer ads, publish fewer pages, draw fewer readers and turn a greater profit.
The first casualty of the DeLuca reapportionment will be Tony DeLuca, who will lose his primary to Bryan Townsend.
Vance Worley will win 18 games to lead the Phillies into the post-season — as a wild card.
The world is going to end. Again. And again after that.
By the end of 2012, Tony DeLuca will be neither a state senator nor a DOL employee.
Colin Bonini will have to caucus by himself as the Senate R’s will have nothing to do with him. Nor will the D’s.
Ernesto Lopez will beat Glen Urquhart in the R 6th District State Senate primary.
Karen Weldin Stewart only gets about 35% of the D vote in her bid for reelection. Crane in a landslide.
Occupy Delaware supporters gather outside Leg Hall when Jack Markell once again proposes cuts to the social safety net and proposes no ‘shared sacrifice’ for the Billionaires On the Hill. (Prove me wrong, governor.)
Bob Gilligan runs for reelection. Bob Marshall does not, and bypasses the mayoral race.
Dori Connor is not reelected. Neither, sadly, is George Bunting.
Delaware’s ‘most law-abiding’ legislator will once again be pulled over by the cops. This time, he won’t be able to pull rank to save his worthless hide.
John Manifold will prove to be a genius when Liane Sorenson accepts a job in the Markell Administration. I was gonna write a story proposing this novel solution to the Sokola/Sorenson battle, and JM predicted it. Bleep you, John!! You may be a genius, but you’re an evil genius.
Injuries catch up to an aging Phils’ team, and they don’t make the playoffs.
